I thought Razza was going to be off at the beginning through Var! I threw an empty can across the room. What does everyone else think?

When I showed my wife the ridiculous penalty by Sergio her comment was ...................

I hope that is not what people remember Sergio for.

Tarnished is the word. The only other potential word now is redemption, if he is allowed the opportunity. I don't think he should be. The spirit the entire team have put in this season, personified from Foden through to Ferdy epitomises it.

You don't tarnish a legacy with one shit penalty.

As long as Pep doesn't do his "over thinking" in BIG games
I think we're over that phase. He's clearly made it known what his strongest XI for big games is.

Or well, I sincerely hope so. What today does ironically is help him keep the strongest XI in mind. Neither of the players that started today can make a case to him.

Pep trusts this squad. Today's lineup was a statement to that, he expects professionalism and the job to get done. Sure, a loss could have come anyway, but it's the manner in which it came about. Should not be the case.

Pep was right the performance was goold enough to win the game.

Bad luck and a penalty miss did for us.

We made our own luck. Mendy was getting absolutely rinsed by Reece James down the right, Rodri was too busy complaining to the ref when he should've made sure he was back in position defending. Pen decision aside, we should not have let them score like they did. It is not good enough.

As for people who think we've 'shot ourselves in the foot as we'll have to play a strong team'
That was going to happen regardless. Today's rotation was also rather obvious. Pep may want rotation but he knows how important rhythm is. Those players will play and get games, as for injuries, we cannot guarantee anything.

Some of you need to chill. This isn’t gonna stop us winning the league and It’s not gonna stop us winning the Champions league.
We don't know that. I guess you can understand the fans being upset as they are our CL opponents, we just expected a bit more seriousness maybe.

Of course this won't be the way we play, of course it is not our strongest XI, and of course we will make changes and be a lot more aggressive. But all that said, let's not undermine them. They have made the CL finals after all, no matter how easy the route was. In a one-off game anything is possible. No first timers in a CL final have ever won it. Lots of other factors. We shouldn't be overanalysing the final right now, but the point is, we should also not be taking them lightly.
