Chelsea have the model.

Could Barcelona win the premier league?

The way they completely dismantled Arsenal at the Emirates in the Champions League, would suggest that they could.

l agree with the OP about the need for power , skill and pace , but then saw he had de-jong included in this category, who has none of the aforementioned attributes.

Each of those in equal measures. RobinHood had little of the former, bags skill, a modicum of pace, but the number of times he was just bounced off the ball. He was ill suited to the EPL once the likes of Harry Crippsian fullbacks realised it too.

FFS, they'd walk it. I'll now wait for the usual 'couldn't play Bolton on a cold December Monday night' balls. They've got the players and the manager to piss it.

Sad to say but this Premier League is no place for artists.
Skill and power is what's needed, so it's bye bye to Robi.
Hello to Yaya, Nige, etc..
We unfortunately have to match the power game that two thirds of this league use to stay in it.
Just be glad we have AJ to watch.

Ronaldo? Van Persie? Fabregas?
Even Nani, who has all the strength and power of a used powder puff, and was shite at the start of last season, put in some pretty good performances later on.

Our own up-and-coming star AJ has the build of an emaciated student, but what he lacks in physical strength, he makes up for in resolve, tenacity and skill.

Agree with you that Yaya Toure would be a great addition to the squad.

I would argue that it is much easier to toughen up a skiful but pansy artist like Robi than it is to give a strong a powerful slugger like Caicedo the skills of a Robi or Ronaldo.
Drogba has skill, artistry and power - a deadly combination.
I hate to admit it, but so does Rooney.
