MARK Hughes has doubts over Craig Bellamy and Stephen Ireland ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League encounter with Chelsea at Eastlands.

The pair both picked up knee injuries in Wednesday’s Carling Cup win over Arsenal and are rated as extremely doubtful.

Vladimir Weiss, who scored his first senior goal in midweek, is also unlikely to figure after being laid low by tonsillitis but Martin Petrov and Nigel de Jong should be available after missing out on the Arsenal triumph.

Not a major problem, theres an argument for Robinho to start anyway and with the strength of Chelsea's midfield, a pairing of Barry/De Jong or Barry/Kompany wouldnt be bad.

Think we'll go with:

Given
Richards
Toure
Lescott
Bridge
De Jong
Barry
Robinho
Tevez
SWP
Adebayor.

Afraid I think Ashley Cole will get past richards too often and repeat his crosses of last week. Come on Micah prove me wrong!

Loosing Ireland would be a huge blow for this game.

How we can create anything for you front 3, with a midfield trio of De Jong/Kompany/Barry i'm not to sure (i think we'll play 433)

Step up Mr. Barry.

If its 442 with Tevez and Ade then it doesn't matter who the midfield two are, i think we'll get dominated.

Bang on the money, Gstar.

He's got to go 4-5-1 for this one. I'm sure he will. Not sure who could step into Ireland's shoes in that role. As you say, maybe Barry with De Jonh and Kompany behind. That would be a team who could dominate the middle of the park. SWP is also a possibility for that role but then who'd play wide right. You don't want Weiss in for thisone.

Would make Hughes job a little easier too!

But they will stil complain if we get beat
- should have selected Ireland
- Bellamy should have played
- Robinho never tracked back
- Barry looks tired
- SWP runs froward like a headless chicken
- Richards has no positional sense
- Lescott was too expensive
- Bridge has only got one foot
- Ade is lazy

Lets pray we win so we dont have to hear this maddness again!

who gets the chop then if we go 4-5-1?

Can't see Hughes not wanting to start Carlos due to the workrate he provides, tricky team selection.

I agree though that if we go 4-4-2 Chelsea will murder us in the middle.
