Chelsea Injury Concerns

Bang on the money, Gstar.

He's got to go 4-5-1 for this one. I'm sure he will. Not sure who could step into Ireland's shoes in that role. As you say, maybe Barry with De Jonh and Kompany behind. That would be a team who could dominate the middle of the park. SWP is also a possibility for that role but then who'd play wide right. You don't want Weiss in for thisone.

who gets the chop then if we go 4-5-1?

Can't see Hughes not wanting to start Carlos due to the workrate he provides, tricky team selection.

I agree though that if we go 4-4-2 Chelsea will murder us in the middle.

I think we'll play a midfield three of De Jong/Barry/Tevez which will result in Tevez not being deep enough to participate when defending and then too deep when we attack.

If Ireland's fit Tevez has to go on the bench.

In fact if Ireland's not fit then he's still on the bench. A midfield three of this for me:

....................De Jong.............Kompany....................

................................Barry...................................

IF Swp, Bellamy and Ireland are out then i expect this....

.......................Shay.......................

Micah.......Kolo..........Lescott.....Bridge

.......................NDJ........................

Tevez.......Vince........Barry........Robbie

.......................Ade........................

Like the look of that team hope Hughes is looking! Or u r Hughes in disguise! :)

all of our injury doubts should be available apparently . ireland and bellers have a 90% chance of playing

They will murder us in the middle anyway. With no Stevie none of the other 3 can link up the midfield and attack so it almost becomes counterproductive because we will win the ball and then give it straight back.I'm not a Tevez fan by any stretch be at least he will retain possesion for us when he can, which will really help the defense out because however we line up we will be under alot of pressure in this match.Without Ireland,Tevez will have to play and Hughes could always get him to drop deep when we lose it.

I think Bellers will be a big miss because of his workrate and they are a physical side so Robbie won't have an easy time of it.With this thing that Bellers can't play too many games together I found the team selection a bit odd against Hull.Thought it would have made more sense to start Bellers then bring Robbie on after an hour. Then against Arsenal's kids would have been a good game to start Robbie and have Bellers saved for the tough physical match with Chelsea.

If that's the case my team is this:

......................Given.........................

Richards....Toure.....Lescott..........Bridge

................De Jong........Kompany.........
........SWP...........Ireland.........Bellamy...

........................Adebayor...................

I could live with Robinho for Bellamy, but it's a double edged sword for me. We need to stop their fullbacks overlapping as well as win the midfield battle. Bellamy gets stuck in and tracks them better, but Robinho arguably keeps them deep with his probing.
