We should fear nobody in this league. Go for the win, though I wouldn't be shocked to see NDJ starting tomorrow in place of Nasri.
I would go with Sergio, Mario and Merlin up top. Luiz is suspended and Alex out of favour, so likely to be the speed merchants of Terry and Ivanovic at cb for Chelsea.
As long as we don't allow Mata to turn and run at us, can track the late runs of Ramires and defend crosses to the back stick for Drogba, then I think we will win. A clean sheet is long overdue.

Luiz is suspended! Bugger, he is a fukin liability for them.

We'll see Alex, I'd be looking at him in the window next month

I doubt he will ever play for them again

what a stupid thread! if we are going to win the league we need to beat our rivals. not "sit back",
not necessarily. The rags won the league in 2008/9 and they only took 5 points off the other top 4 teams. They destroyed the other 16 though (apart from poor results away at the next four). There are six teams in that group now but that still leaves 84 points for grabs from the "lesser" teams.

Anyways If you guys have time could you answer me what you Guys think About AVB?
His tactical understanding of the game is unquestionable. His leadership skills are yet to be proven. But he's young and can possibly become a great manager in time. I doubt he will be given enough time in Chelsea though.

Luiz is actually a Very Good defender when we don't play a high line, He just doesent follow Instructions. And It's unlikely Alex will ever play for us again

Re: Chelsea Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

I'd line up like this:
Code:
---------------Hart---------------
Zaba----Komps----Lescott----Clichy
---Milner--Toure--Barry---Silva---
--------Balotelli---Aguero--------

Not really a 442. Silva roaming. Yaya pushing up to give Romeu something to think about. Barry keeping the ball ticking, and Milner to give us work rate and tenacity.

Zaba's our best marking/tackling/dirty work full back by far and as he hasn't played the last few games, he'll really be wanting to perform well. And as we all know, Zaba always shows up in the big games. Always.

Edin on the bench to come on as an impact sub. It's highly unlikely in my opinion that he'll start as it'd be his 4th straight start in lieu of Mario. Mario will be hungry to score and I'm confident he will as he's another one of those that turn up in the big games.

Night time at the Bridge will be an electrifying game and I think it will be much harder than most here seem to think.

Interesting tidbit is that Chelsea have had no clean sheets everytime Boswinga has started for them, and he's almost certain to play tomorrow as Luiz is banned for this match. So, I'd really fancy us to get on the score sheet and I'd say we are more likely than them to win due to our consistent form. Although, a draw would hardly ruin my day as the next time they play us, it's on our pitch. Still though, anything happens in football and although we are the superiour team, they have players who know how to kick a football on target, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. ;)

Another little tidbit is that we've won 3 of the last 4 times they played us, but they did 2-0 us at the Bridge in March when we really didn't play well, especially Dzeko who was just getting acclimated to our team I think.

My prediction: 2-0 City. Silva first to score, Milner to assist.

Re: Chelsea Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

I am fearing this big time honestly. I really have basically no confidence. Maybe it is that I have a final exam and then watching this game today but it just doesn't feel right. I don't know which I fear more my final or the game.

That is probably going to be the lineup. Personally, I would have dropped one of Balo or Aguero for Nasri, But I sense Mancini is now sold on playing 2 strikers.

Re: Chelsea Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Thing is though Aguero is not all that great as a lone striker. In fact, Balotelli is the one striker I feel is our best option if we want to go with one man up top.

Nasri would really help us hold the ball so I can see why you would want him on the pitch. Last March against Chelsea, we couldn't keep on to the ball for anything I remember.

just because of how liverpool beat them with the quick, pacy little guys, that's how we beat them a couple of years ago, Tevez, Bellamy and SWP.

As we don't have that pure pace anymore, the small, skillful relatively quick guys would be my choice, might even throw AJ in.
