Chelsea (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

The majority of cup finals are boring because there's a lot at stake.
Nothing is at stake in real terms, it's a one off game, so go for it.

They were all about time wasting, fouling, diving from the first minute (a foul on Rodri).

They got what they deserved, no real ambition to win the game.

Palmer is our very own Jack Grealish.
1 very good season average the last couple.
Chelsea will take the rags to the cleaners selling him to that mob.
Couldn't agree more, dont get the hype around him. He won the lottery at Chelsea by being chosen to take penalties, of which they've had bucket loads and in turn his stats look better than he's actually been.

Hopefully the rags shell big this summer for him and he turns into another Sancho, which I'm convinced he will.

Tries too hard to act “not bovvered”. Clearly a very good player who thinks he’s too cool to try

Other teams have done the domestic cup double in previous seasons, so surely they must also have won every single cup match that season?
Am I missing something?
If a game is settled by penalties, the result will go in the record books as a draw. In 2019, we beat Leicester in a shootout in the q/f of the Carabao Cup, and Chelsea in the final, also on penalties.

Don’t forget League Cup has 2 legged semi finals. It’s possible to lose one and still qualify for the final.

Never quite understood this "mistake" thing. You have no idea how a match is going to pan out until it's played. If Marmoush had come on and scored a couple in the first half we would all be calling it a masterstroke. You try something, it either comes off or it doesn't, it's not a "mistake". If it doesn't work you change it.

Probably the idea was to keep a couple of players fresh for Tuesday to give us a bit of an edge, very tough week to have a major final in London 3 days after an important home match, then another one at what is probably the furthest we have to travel 3 days after the final.
Also Pep said after game that Chelsea surprised him by playing defensively. That's why he needed someone to break the lines. Kovacic and Cherki did that.

We played Newcastle in a 2 leg semi and won them both. Other teams have obviously lostt or drawn.
