Chelsea (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Great win. Cup double is fantastic achievement.

I thought it was a terrible game and poor performance. Selection of Marmoush was a bad decision and Chelsea arguably better team. Thankfully we got the goal
I thought the poor team selection dictated the poor game; if we started our strongest XI in the normal formation we might have caned them

It’s rare that Pep makes a sub like that at h/t, he knew he’d fucked up. It’s so strange because there was nothing logical about not playing Cherki.

Kovacic changed the game. Faster pace of play, forward passing. What a performance. Need an exact younger replica of him in the summer.

Spot on
Rodri was not match fit and should have been on the bench. I feel for Nico G after scoring that winner in the semi-final and not even making the squad, Kovacic gave us a new lease of life and the lift we needed

Not the best final, but after 2 final defeats and playing well, I think we deserved this one, just about

Arguably the better team..by what metric
We had more possession..more attempts both on and off target..more touches in opposition box..better xg ( even though I don't particularly rate xg ) more passes more accurate passes..
Chelsea were fucking wank..we weren't great but we were the better team

Hard game to enjoy that, a frustrating watch and a strange game. Neither team had any rhythm or cohesion. Atmosphere was horrendous n’all.

But we saw one of the great Cup final goals to win it… good move, good pull back, incredible finish!

Buzzing!

Well pleased we could get Bernardo and Stones a win at their last trip to Wembley with us.

Funny thing is, when you look back at most of the past FA Cup finals, it's always the special goal that people remember rather than the game, This one by Semenyo will be talked about forever. It's up there with the Dennis Tueart overhead kick in the League Cup final of 1976

it all about putting the ball in the net ? City scored, Chelsea never, fuck the stats

100%. I've said many bad things this season but the sheer winning mentality of this team and manager is absolutely legendary. Only City could win a cup double and it be dissed. Fuck em all. We know what it means.
Just goes to show the standards expected of us. Different gravy. Two cups and two points off the league title and they want us to be embarrassed? I guess City are only competing with the standards we’ve set for ourselves.

We were and thankfully that was enough. It was a very average performance but no one cares at the end as long as we win.

Chelsea were shite..

We set up in a way that meant we couldn't get going from the start and I think it set the tone for the rest of the game, even though we marginally improved with subs.

It's a good job Chelsea were shite because we were bit flat but we deserved the win in a fairly mediocre game.

Must admit not just that Goal but Nico has filled a very hard pair of boots fill plus with Rodri being a legend at Etihad

I think it was too big for Rodri starting ? Wembley and the pitch are hard going for a fully fit player
Rodri struggled just before halftime and in the 2nd half. Giving him 65 minutes was far too much; we were getting overrun in the middle of the park and Chelsea was on top,

I was saying we deserved to win..not sure what you meant by quoting my post..the other guy was the one saying Chelsea were the better team..I was pointing out how we outperformed them in every way including scoring

Superb achievement bringing home 2 cups with the way we’ve played this season.

I think Kovacic changed the game, Rodders didn’t look fit at all. We just never really got going and thankfully nor did Chelsea. As others have said though, nobody will remember how we played and so the important thing today was to win.

Up the blues.

Delightful to play shit and win a big game for a change instead of getting a smash and grab against us.

Semenyo divides opinion. You have to just play him and accept he's gonna lose the ball quite a bit but he will eventually do something decisive, not what we're used to.

Class!
