Chelsea (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

A double was unthinkable not so long ago and this season has now become a great one. Was thinking first half that Semenyo and Erl had been poor but they both contributed to a great goal and played well second half.
Just watching the guys celebrating and how they handle themselves and we have a lot of really nice humble people representing our club.
Very proud of them tbh.

Other teams have done the domestic cup double in previous seasons, so surely they must also have won every single cup match that season?
Am I missing something?
Did some win replays having drawn or possibly drawn/lost single legs of the League Cup but won the tie overall?

We have won every 90 minutes in each comp I think it means.

Another record for the 1000000000000 Pep has set at God’s Own Club.

I thought Antoine was poor in the first half, and I was expecting Phil to replace him, but what do I know?

First team to win 2 trophies when everything was won in January by the best squad ever assembled in club football, amazing!

Not the greatest of finals, Chelsea set up to be difficult to beat and their 5 across the back proved difficult to break through. Cherki for Marmoush at half time was a call every City fan would have expected and, personally, I thought the introduction of Kovatic for Rodri also put us more on the front foot. Chelsea’s main threat seemed to come from their desire to win a penalty and, whilst all the big decisions were correct, we’ve probably got to accept that Kushanov’s style of defending will inevitably lead to us conceding a few penalties in the PL. As a ‘day out’ it was right up there with the best, really enjoyable, great atmosphere and a domestic cup double is an incredible achievement for the team and Pep. God, I hope we get at least one more season from him.

Can't believe he's only 31 and leaving. Could have understood it at 34-35.
He wants to leave for a personal reason though, to have one last challenge elsewhere ... so he'll need around three years for that, and that will probably take him to retirement ... I also suspect that his missus is after returning home too, and family is all important to Bernardo.

I suspect that he's after a club in Portugal, his homeland ... or maybe Spain .... him and his missus are both from Lisbon.

If he stayed at City until he was 34 or 35, and left then, he probably wouldn't be able to give another club anything like his best.

Not a classic or dramatic final but I think that was down to Chelsea's tactics not ours. I thought our fans were absolutely superb, for many of us it was our third trip to Wembley in a couple of months and the round trips of 18 hours (plus expenses) are not easy. I'm determined to keep going (if lucky enough to get there) until I drop! Thanks for a great day out my fellow blues!!!

Saw the aftermath of that northbound accident about 11:30 (It happened at 06:30). The Peugeot 208 was a mess. I was sure there would be fatalities.

Absolute carnage when we drove past this early yesterday morning around 9.30 am on the way to Wealdstone FC Ruislip. One of the cars ( Peugeot) had rolled a long way down the motorway after impact clearly travelling at high speed and both cars were up the embankment. A number of very distressed people by the side of the motorway clearly in shock . Horrific scenes.
