I don't understand why anyone is upset with that. We knew the CL was going to get priority, we knew we had 8 first team players injured.

The only thing people should be pissed off about is that Caballero and Demichelis were responsible for about 4 of the goals - the kids were fine.

If Pellegrini had played the first team and Aguero got injured you'd all be calling him a fraud. If Pellegrini payed the first team and they looked exhausted on Wednesday you'd call him a fraud.

Some of you just lose all reason after a defeat. It's pathetic.

We did as well as Newcastle did there last week. Pelle ultra defensive post match on playing a much weakened team. Never seen someone keep faith with shite like Willy and Demi for as long as he has.

Shearer said Barca didn't rest their players. Then sai d Crystal Palace must have fancied themselves beating Spurs as Spurs had played Thursday in the Europa League.

What a twat!!!

He obviously hasn't been keeping an eye of Barcelona's squad rotation of the last few weeks then.

The difference is they do it subtlety, one or two players here and there. And when someone else comes into the team, they have a fucking plan and idea to fit in to.

Pellegrini said that we couldn't play on a different day for some reason and the interviewer said are you blaming television or the football association for fielding a weakened side? And he said no no don't change my words
Cheers

i dont think too many people are upset with the result, just poor management from pelle and some basic errors from our first teamers

The guy i know who houses youth players once housed barker apparently, which seems strange considering hes local but anyway. He reckons barker is going and thats why he hasnt played much and his head is down. Miht be bollocks. I certainly hope so!

Selection was a Club decision not only Pellegrini. The club asked for it to be moved to saturday but BBC refused. So the BBC got what they deserved - "not a real game".
2 good things to come out of that game; young players getting experience and senior players not getting injured at the start of an important week.
People may not agree with the selection but you can understand why they did it.
The following players will now have had a week and a half recovery before Kiev; Hart, Kompany, Otemendi, Clichy, Fernandinho, Silva, Sterling, Aguero.

Mainly because he's a no backbone yes man.

No one will be surprised if we lose the next 3 games as well.

Tosin, both Garcias, Faups can all leave that game with their heads held high, they showed themselves to be very capable - unfortunately Willy, Kolarov, Demi and Fernando did quite the opposite.

Why oh why did Pellers tell the media a week ago he will play the youngsters, no need what so ever. Keep em guessing.
But it's the same every week telling the world who is injured, very naive IMO.
Because if you are making a point then it's probably sensible to let people know about it. It would also have been very unfair on away fans to spring that team on them thinking they were going to a proper contest.

Would be generally curious to see caballero stats compared to Pantilimon's. Clean sheets, how many times he's let in more than 2 goals etc. Can't help but think they will prove him to be a downgrade.

Very proud of the young lads today; they were a credit to themselves and to our club, but they were let down by the more experienced players around them.

The final score was pretty much what I expected pre-match, but after the impressive start and the equaliser, I had hoped that we'd at least get them back to Etihad. It was not to be, but if this is the quality of the players coming out of the MCFC Academy, then the future is very bright.

That side was picked from way higher up than Pellegrini lol.

Not literally, I assume but I have no doubt the decision to blow off the FA Cup was not taken solely by Pellegrini. I do think though that he should have gone 4-5-1 and made life harder for Chelsea in the middle. However, the offside trap and Willy cost us more than not playing an extra midfielder. We will defend very differently next season and I look forward to a whole new approach.

Older guard absolutely disgraceful. Counting down the days until Pep comes in and gets rid of the likes of Kolarov, Fernando, Demichelis, Caballero etc.
A keeper of Joe Hart's quality deserves to be playing in cup finals, hopefully Pellegrini actually comes to some kind of sense and realises that instead of giving his mate another game.
On the positive side, thought the youngsters played well. Difficult for Celina and Manu Garcia as they were playing out of their usual positions, neither are wingers. Tosin looked good but needs to work on his ball work. Two up front looked dangerous for the brief chances they had. Aleix Garcia as well was class, and the two that came on looked steady enough as well. They can hold their heads high. Pellegrini and the senior players though, need to be extremely embarrassed.

And said it would be good for England (i.e. if we progress it helps keep four places for EPL teams in the Chumps League).
