Missing out on him has cost us one Premier League Title, could cost us another.

Best player on the pitch tonight!
Has turned into a monster under Mourinho.

That summer where you missed out on RVP, Hazard and De Rossi was similar to when the Chelsea board did not sanction the signing of Pepe.

Re: Chelsea Thread 2013/14

Performance of the season for us. Great display all around. I didn't think City played particularly poorly (except your defence was really exposed), we just did a great job of preventing you from doing your thing and your players seemed a bit shocked by it - but when you did get to string some passes together in our 3rd you looked potent. We didn't just roll over a die, the audacity! Hazard, Matic and Cahill were especially good and you were really unlucky with injuries.

I'm looking forward to our rematch in the cup. Our meetings are turning into show-piece events.

I get the impression that Pelle has a philosophy and wants to stick to it no matter what. A bit like Guardiola. To be fair it's a pretty good system, but it'll be a weakness in games like this. He had a more conservative approach at the Bridge, so I was surprised to see him go with his usual system here especially with some key injuries. It'll be interesting to see how you line up in a couple of weeks.

Oh FFS get over it, stop acting like a spoilt child. You ever asked a girl out who then told you quite bluntly to get lost. What do you do? stand around moping and longing for something that isn't gonna happen, or find someone else? There will people still going on about Hazard in five years time, whilst others will still be offering to pick NDJ up from the Airport.

-- Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:09 am --

It may have been because of the squad depletion issue- We are currently missing both our first and second choice DMs, Milner is short of fitness and I doubt he has much faith in Rodwell's ability or the likelihood of him surviving any period of the match without injury.

You were the better team on the night and deserved your win.

I thought the game didn't reach any great height although it was a bit more entertaining for the neutral than some of your other games against sides in the top six this season.

You have a had a great run with injuries and if it continues you will be there abouts come seasons end for sure.

Our poor run with injuries continues and is getting worse by the match.

Negredo shouldn't have played tonight but I assume the medicos know it won't do him anymore long term harm to get some game time.

One never knows but if we had all our injured players available tonight it might have been a different story.

Nasri is important for us but not having both Kun and Ferny as well weakens us considerably.

No doubt some would disagree but not having Garcia , Lescott , Richards and Milner available either makes a hard task even harder.

Our problem is that every injury we pick up is of the kind that puts the player on the sidelines for a number of weeks and its not a given that they can come back into the side in the form immediately they were in prior to getting injured.

Re: Chelsea Thread 2013/14

Yeah that seems to be the concensus that he is a bit rigid.
As you say you can't be totally inflexible though or good teams will suss it as you did last night.
Mourinho as much as a bugger he is for other teams i can imagine is a man you lot love for good reason, he wins games.

That swine Hazard fucking terrorized us the bugger, had a storming game and kept our defence edgy all match.

Hopefully Mourinho does keep trying to be more attacking but just not against us xD

Re: Chelsea Thread 2013/14

We just need an elite striker to compete our puzzle now. The difference of your side without Aguero was noticeable, we were both useless in front of goal. Imagine being without Aguero every week and that's how we feel.

Re: Chelsea Thread 2013/14

Chelsea are really gathering momentum - beaten Liverpool, United, and now City in recent weeks. Mourinho effect imo, he's probably the best manager in the world at present.

If they add a top striker, and maybe a younger left back it would complete the side imo.

This is turning into the most interesting Premier league season in years.

Re: Chelsea Thread 2013/14

oh well, we missed Aguero and Fernandinho.

You could tell they were not gonna park the bus when John Obi Mikel was not included in the starting XI.
