Chelsea Thread 2013/14 (continued)

To give some credit, they've done incredibly well to be right up challenging for the title and in the QF of the champions league with the strikers they've got. Eto'o has played well at times at home, but apart from that they've all been dogs**t. Could you imagine where City and Liverpool would be if the respected strike forces were swapped around? You can't be winning things with no form strikers, it's as simple as that.

2-1 was a good result imo, you would've had to favour chelsea taking it back to Stamford Bridge at that, but that third goal changes it completely. It's going to be very tough now but it's still doable, for long periods of the game tonight PSG looked pretty ordinary. I'd have them slight favourites mind but writing Chelsea off in Europe is very foolish.

Chelsea are awful to watch. Even with good players Mou plays a spoiling game something he was guilty of with Madrid. You can see that Madrid are much better and happier now.

Thank god Txiki didn't bring this guy to City. We may have won the league this year with him, but he's equally likely to have said we had no fit for purpose defenders, just as he's been criticizing the strikers he's got at Chelsea. Personally think he's had his day and is unable to move with the times.

If he ends up trophyless this season I think it is a fail despite what he says. He has the best defence in the country, a midfield second only to ours.

I thought PSG were better because they created several chances to score whereas Chelsea were only a threat in the 1st half when Hazard was on the ball.

PSG were negative, and should have gone for it. But they got the result in the end

I agree the tie is not over. 2-0 wins it for CFC. I can see PSG scoring. Particularly if they don't play Cavani, and if they play Moura.

Agree, but they also did incredibly poorly to sell Sturridge and send Lukaku out on loan. Everyone saw how shit Torres was last season and we were all baffled when they sent Lukaku on loan to Everton. He would have undoubtedly been their first choice striker, same with Sturridge.

They also shouldn't have sold Mata imo. Far better player than Oscar I think, who imo doesn't possess the same creativity.

Be interesting to see how they aproach the second leg as we all know they like to be cautious however a 2 goal defecit means they will be have to come out leaving chances for PSG.

Must have been watching a different game , I thought it was 3-1.

If Leslie can get a result on Sunday I would suggest Chelsea's season is over.

Right now I would have Liverpool slight favourites ahead of us but lets hope BFS can get Carroll pumped up to put one over on them , they are due to drop points.

Think u need to read that post again mate he said 2-1 was ok but when the 3rd goal went in it made it more difficult.

What is it with these European coaches who don't lay strikers but expect to score goals?

Mourinho on playing Schurrle.........

Football is also about scoring goals. That is for strikers, for real strikers. I had to try

I think we can safely say Torres is on his way out of Chelsea at last. I hope they buy Cavani

Chelsea still have a decent chance of going through. 40/60

I haven't see much of PSG. They were very good in last season's Champions League and yesterday they had some extremely good individual performances, but I thought they were surprisingly defensive. When they went 1-0 up, they played on the counter, and when they went 2-1 up they did the same. Tha's not very good tactics for a team who have fantastic technical players.

I don't think the strikers are an issue. Its the tactics. The strikers get no service what so ever and you can't keep on blaming whoever plays there.

Really? Personally I hope they buy Darren Bent, Emile Heskey or Nicklaus Bendtner.
