Chelsea Thread 2013/14 (continued)

If Mourinho was ANY other foreign manager whom Fleet Street didn't fawn over his job would be under a lot of pressure now. Watching him say bollocks in his post-match press conference about how Chelsea were already out of the title race long-ago and the lap-dog interviewer not once countering that they were very much in it until today's failure says everything you need to know about his relationship with the sycophantic media - I wouldn't use the word journalist. Ancelotti was very similar to Pellegrini when he was in England - both clearly see dealing with the media a chore of the job. Roman should never have sacked him.

If he's such a managerial genius he wouldn't need the 50m striker on his wishlist to break down teams like Norwich. He already made a horrific decision letting Lukaku go to Everton and if he thought they were that lacking of decent striking options in Jan, he could have used some of the 22m Matic fee to unearth a new forward in Europe....like Atletico did when they purchased Diego Costa for 2.5m a few seasons back. He could even have tried out Schurrle as an out an out centre forward for a spell with less emphasis on knocking high crosses into the box.

Lets not forget this.

The penalty was awarded by referee Andre Marriner in the fourth and final minute of stoppage-time for what appeared a relatively innocuous coming-together between Ramires and Reid. After Hazard had sent Boaz Myhill the wrong way, there was a fracas between the rival players as West Brom made their anger clear.

Mourinho has got so carried away with his arguments that he's tying himself up in knots and making himself look stupid

He said Norwich needed 3 points to stay up, and played for one, whereas the team that played for 3 only needed one (CFC were supposedly just after one point to sow up 3rd spot, and he's known for weeks that Chelsea weren't in the title race). How about you deal with CFC's problems in breaking down a massed defence? How does selling Mata help that? Dropping Oscar. Dropping Hazard

Maybe he wanted to prove himself right that Chelsea weren't going to win the title this season?

Any other manager of Chelsea would be out the door with he season they have had...
No other Chelsea manager would be trusted with rebuilding the squad. This is why Ancelotti was fired. The board simply did not trust him to rebuild a new team. He did a good job managing the end of the Mourinho's team, but he did not feel them with confidence he could put together another one.

Lest we forget that chelsea are a team in transition...
New manager, £88m spent doesn't even come into the equation and don't even bother with the fact maureen has managed on these shores before.
No negative press for these bad boys, move along nothing to see here.

After what he did last week at Liverpool, i think he's fab. My dislike of the bloke has been temporarily put on hold until after Sunday at least.
