Chelsea Thread (2015-16)

The media go on and on about the Tactical Genius and always sets his teams up to defend so where are they now?! His team has let in the same amount of goals as Sunderland

A similar thing happened the season before last, although they were still scoring and winning more games. It looked as if there was a clear directive to be more attacking, but in using all of the same defenders drilled under a different system they were getting exposed more often and conceded more. There was a game, perhaps Newcastle, after which Mourinho made a choice to revert to type and get back to being solid without chasing too many goals. It's a winning strategy for him but it's questionable how well it sits with Abramovic, especially after everyone essentially called their CL win an overly defensive fluke.

Since xmas last season we havent been playing that well at all, we got results to get us over the line to win the title but actual performances we havent been that great.

I think its something like we've only scored more than one goal four times in about 30+ games, that says it all.

Something isnt right behind the scenes, loads of us have thought it since the start of pre-season, its typical Chelsea there's always a drama on the horizon.

Anyway congratulations on being the 2015/16 league Champions, City wont be caught especially by us.

Hello Jose.
You little tinker :-)

A journo on TS before the season started was the only one who had Chelsea not winning the league, he said all was not well behind the scenes and you would see Mourinho unravel this season. It seems he was right up to now, long may it continue :)

You have to say, it shows what an incredible motivator Ferguson was to retain so many titles. The gaps between success and failure, especially at the top, are so small, a little mental relaxation from the reigning Champions is enough for them to lose their crown the following season. So much about professional sport is won and lost in the head. Not saying Chelsea are at that point yet, but it's not looking good for them.
