Chelsea - Transfer ban

I suppose they've argued that they should be treated as innocent before being found guilty i.e. till after the appeal.

I'm not too worried to be honest. It's very hard to get players in January anyway and they're going to have to pay ridiculously over the odds for players with everyone knowing they only have a month to build a squad for two years. Imagine what selling clubs will be like on deadline day January 31st?

They can't afford to buy anyone.

Looking for someone to buy stadium name stinks of desperation.

First of all, it wasn't UEFA that introduced the ban, it was FIFA. Second, the organization that froze the ban is called CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) and they're independent.

Third, it's only fair that Chelsea will have the ban frozen until the decision on their appeal is reached. Because there's a chance they may be found innocent, which means they shouldn't suffer for nothing. Innocent until proven guilty, etc.

In case you didn't know: 1) the Kakuta case is already two years old, 2) FIFA haven't contacted CFC in any manner before reaching their verdict and notified the club about it only a week after it was made, on Sep.3 when the transfer window was already closed, and 3) at no point were Chelsea and Kakuta asked or given an opportunity to present their side of the story and speak in their defense.

It basically means FIFA can pick any player/club and ban them from playing/registering players without informing them in any way or even as much as allowing them the right to defend themselves.

I bet Abromovich is pissed off, he will have that feeling you got when your mates found you sneaking out a toffee in your school days.
