Garcia was a bit better in midfield, but any of us could look good in a 5 man midfield, but he should never play for us in defense again as he just doesn't have what it takes.
Demichelis surprised me (at last) with an OK debut, a bit rusty but he has been out of match fitness for a long time.
Yaya was again lackadaisical and lollygagging around, but doesn't he have a clause in his contract that guarantees him a starting place?
Hart coming out like that today was similar to his move that cost us a goal against Villa.
Pants will probably start in the League Cup on Wednesday, but now it is time to give him an extended run.
City & Chelsea both had good chances to put more goals away. There were several stretches when we dominated possession and play but we failked to move the ball forwards and failed to put away our chances. Up to the final few minutes, a draw would have been a fair result.
I would not have played 4 5 1 formation today. What has happened to Gael Clichy this season? I would not have started Garcia or Nasri, and would never start Silva & Nasri together. Our most effective midfield 3 is probably Ferny Silva & Milner (or Navas).
The players on the field today that I feel sorry for are Zaba, Ferny, Silva, & Aguero, who tried so hard, and all in vain because of the poor play and mistakes of others. The players not in the starting line-up today that I feel sorry for are Pantilimon, Richards, Lescott, Kolarov, Milner, Navas, Jovetic & Dzeko (plus Boyata & Guidetti who seem to be forgotten men) who deserved a chance and we know they could have done so much better than the others.
Please don't let anyone try to tell us we are short of players. We are not short of players, but we are short of team leadership and team coaching and motivation. This group does not show enough signs yet that they are able to jell, and doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes, even after 9 BPL games (W5, D1, L3) and 3 Champions League games (W2, L1) and 1 League Cup win. It is shaping up to be a long struggle this season, in 7th place and already 6 points back of the leaders.
