Chelseas poor attendances

Mon Nov 22nd 1993. Crowd 10,128. This (apart from Middlesbrough away in the cup last season) is the coldest I have ever been at a match.

If you go back to the 40's onwards to the present day they average more support than us so id be careful with the "chelsea never been a big club" rubbish.

Did go down 80's but think that was more down to the skinheads/far right element that aligned themselves to the club.

I've always rated their away support. Can remember them bringing two small armys in the late 80's when they were apparently "badly supported".

Can anyone access Chelseas average home attendance some time in the 1980s
when I am sure they were getting less than 20 k.
A Chelsea fan at work has just had a dig at City fans singing of WWYWYWS
to Chelsea fans and I want to go back to him with these figures....

Any help appreciated....

I know 3 blokes who live in london, one supports Spuds, another Arsenal and one who has a season ticket at west ham. All of them say they don't know anyone who follows Chelsea.

It's all tourists, toffs and daytrippers.
