Nunez didn't push on forward as much as he has been doing to cover for Cherki's defensive weaknesses. So he made a three at the back when we had the ball and left room for Cherki to play in on the right. This was new this weekend.

It's all about consistency with cherki if he's fit playing well and putting in a shift every game then he plays.

He’s a contributor. Leads the prem in assists despite barely playing.

It has been argued that this season Pep has tweaked City's formation so that Doku and Foden are playing inside with the width coming from the full backs in what has been called a Christmas Tree formation. I adapted an image from https://www.premierleague.com/en/video/4485462/the-breakdown-why-phil-foden-is-unstoppable-again to show this.

It has been very noticeable that Doku has playing further inside and Foden also seems to be playing inside as well, so I will accept that the so called Christmas Tree does reflect the mean positions of our players.

It seems to me likely that Cherki will now become a fixture on the right of our side but how do we do that without affecting the balance of the side?

Integrating Cherki into City is going to be important but we were formerly using Foden-Doku in a 2 behind Haaland.
