I normally drink inside the ground, but meeting a mate on Saturday who is bringing his 11 year old son. Can anyone suggest a decent boozer near the ground?
They're all crap near the ground in my opinion. However kids were always in Mary D's back in the day's I went there but that was well over a decade ago.
My advice is meet at a pub in town. An 11 year old lad will be fine in most.
We used to take my nephew, aged 10, to the Bull´s Head near Piccadilly station. Always full of blues, good atmosphere, and right opposite the taxi rank and the Metrolink station.
Clayton Hall Conny club is a good option. Just up from The Grove which I'd imagine will be rammed, tram or 20 min or so walk in from there. Will be my option once the bread-knife decides he's old enough...
The bank in the city center is where I used to take mine - good pre match scram and spacey - avoid the Grey Horse Inn with kids as its the size of a telephone box, lovely ale in there though
