My grandfather loved Almond Roca and always kept some in a jar. Its very similar to English toffee but includes a layer of chocolate and almonds. The other candy I lived for is Divinity. Also an American candy that is made from egg whites, corn syrup and powdered sugar. It acts as kind of a sponge on your tongue and dissipates fairly quickly. Almond Roca is only made Tacoma, Washington so it may be hard to get a hold of. But there are tons of Divinity recipes on the Internet.
