China bans Windows 8

I don't see how people find Windows 8 unusable if they have a basic understanding of using a PC.

Granted straight out of the box it can be a bit of a nightmare but with 5 minutes of tweaking it can be made to look and feel like windows 7 or even XP but with the added benefits of apps through the metro screen.

Also partitioning your hard drive or running a VM could never be easier with the Windows 8 system.

I've obviously overshot myself again :-)

I've been using computers since the 1970s and I think Windows 8 is dreadful, a real shocker.

It couldn't be worse designed if it'd been specifically aimed at the geeks who think the point of new software is so they can show how clever they are by mastering its pointless eccentricities.

For normal, everyday office related work on a computer it is a fiasco.

Where did you get the wallpaper? looks smart.

Edit, nvm, I should have simply googled mcfc wallpaper before I asked :)

Windows 8 is now my preferred OS. Like previous poster said, 5 minutes of tweaking, some basic computer knowledge, and it's basically windows 7 with a updated, modern look. Highly recommend.

I haven't worked with Win 8 yet, but I really don't buy all the outcry that went off with the release. It's just an OS, surely somebody will figure out how to adapt the homescreen for all the people who don't like change. And I guess if you can manage your smartphone, you'll be allright with it? We'll have to get accustomed to the fact that mobile design will influence stationary OS or even take over eventually.

Forgive me if i'm missing something...with a bit of tinkering you can make your upgraded system look and feel like the thing you upgraded from ;)
