Not wanting to put a downer on your night but has anybody here actully eaten REAL Chinese food?
There must be some that toured China. How much weight did you lose on that trip?
Real Chinese food is fucking horrible. Everything they serve us is a lie and only the rich Chinese ever see it .
Have a lovely evening .

I tell you what mate i will worry about this when im forced to live like a peasant in China. Right now though while i live in England and can get decent fake Chinese food for £10 im not really bothered

Opposite wetherspoons in sale there's a chinese that does the all you can eat. He fucking regretted letting me in there because they had hot and sour soup. Had about 2 pints of it. Crispy duck with pancake rolls. I can eat my own bodyweight in that stuff. If he thought giving us small plates was going to stop me eating a ton of grub he was badly mistaken.

What did you have for main and dessert?

I only joined this board recently and just did a search of China to see if there was any interesting posts that I could contribute to.

I wish I hadn't looked now as some of the quotes on this thread and the 'new fans' thread make me feel uncomfortable and almost unwelcome.

I am the epitome of everything that true blues from Manchester don't want to see supporting their club. I can't even claim to have been interested in Man City in the days of Sun Jihai as I was too young. It is thanks to my boyfriend that I became interested, he has been a fan for a long time I think and even plays in a City kit for his team:

I don't understand why people can't embrace cultural differences and I have been to England (see below) so I have seen both sides and I also know lots of English people here in China that love the culture, the people and especially the food!

How about posting a pic of your self in a City kit. I'm sure you will get a positive responce.

I'm afraid I don't have one, I'm not the football kit type girl I suppose. I could borrow Damon's but not sure about the fit.

Yes you are the epitome of everything that true blues from Manchester don't want to see supporting their club. They aren't used to pretty girls supporting City, only ogling scantily clad ladies. I think a photo of you in just that City shirt should satisfy everyone.

And remember - it's not racist when they do it, because it's a joke.

I'll try and get a picture of me in Damon's shirt but depends what he says.

Daisy where are you and Damon from in China?
I have just returned to HK after a weekend in Guilin,Last thursday I was in Nanjing.
Travelling back to the UK for the match on Thursday then back to Shanghai in June.
Seen quite a few locals here in HK with city shirts on which makes a big change from a few yaers ago

I wouldn't worry about them Daisy
Its likely most of them will be dead come Monday due to alcohol poisoning (maybe me included) morning and the new dawn of supporters can finally be accepted
I get hassle for not having a mancunian accent so its not just people from different countries

Hi, I am originally from Guilin and came to Beijing to study. Damon is from North Beijing.

You have travelled a lot in China, I hope you have enjoyed the food!

I have been to Hong Kong, went back to Guilin last summer and I am going to Shanghai for a week later this month with my work. Guanxi and Yunnan are beautiful places to visit.

Guilin was really relaxing, will visit Xian in June and also factory inXiamnen later .Will also have to go to Wuhan which is not so good but will try to see Yunnan also. Food is not a problem for me but I am careful when visiting some of the industrial areas.I have had some great meals in Harbin and Changchun and some ordinary ones in Shanghai. There is so much choice in HK its easy to find great food here.

Do you live in Shanghai? I have been there a few times and I don't care for it much but it is work. Sounds like you have seen more of China than I have. There are a lot of variations of food accross China and this thread made me a little angry because I have been to UK and eaten 'Chinese' food and it is very ordinary. Beijing has some great places to eat and you can eat almost any style of food you wish. I love Beijing.

Beijing is better than shanghai, much more history and things to see.I live in HK but travel a lot into china and been to a lot of places ,some great and some not so good. Some of the specialist restraunts in Beijing are fantastic but shanghai are very touristy.
I also go to Ningbo every 2 months where the seafood is great.

Thanks for chatting, nice to talk to you. It has restored my faith in The English Gentleman.

-- Tue May 08, 2012 5:20 pm --

Interesting! Damon has agreed to take a photo of me wearing his City shirt and he will be honoured for me to post it on here.

However, only if the pose is like this one:

Eh? What's going on here? I don't come from Guilin. I come from Shropshire, not Guilin. Who said I come from Guilin? Who said I said that? I'll knock their block off! It's not on that, putting words into my mouth, ...er, typing words into my, ...er, mouth, ...KEYBOARD! typing my mouth into my keyboard, WORDS! typing words into my keyboard!
