Chinese Consortium invests $400m in CFG

Were owned by Muslims and communists now? Sky will be hitting the wank wall with negativity against us. Let's do a deal with Putin now to complete the holy trinity.

:)
North Korea sounds a much better option than Putin .

Hahahahahaha how much was United bought for? And the owners drain money from the club every year? And they're massively in debt and the interest repayments are huge?

It's alright, our owners will sell us next year when they get bored though...

Not really possible to value the individual clubs but I think we can safely assume that City represent a large part of that £2bn. I don't know what ADUG would do but other investors are certainly a possibility and, as you say, we could sell another 12% without ADUG ceding overall control. India is another market where there is huge development potential for example.

I remember the days when Sky had a stake of 10% that they'd forgotten about and would have taken less than £2m for. That valued us at around £20m whereas today it's £2bn.

this deal does actually bring to mind that Sky deal, which was ultimately deemed illegal. On the face of it this is similar, because the revenue generated in China/Far East will come mainly from the media companies, and this state owned/backed consortium appears to be from those very companies. So as Sky intended at the time, there can be a sort of "feedback loop" of all the TV cash benefiting City and the Chinese media. Having our cake and eating it, so to speak.

I'm convinced this is a brilliant deal.

I was sat having breakfast with a rag (small r as I dont think he knows where Manchester is) and a Chelski fan when the news came on the radio.... If I could have framed the look on there faces, you would have thought we had beaten them 6-0 at there home grounds. Many years ago when we first got the money I heard a rhyme which I still use to wind them up. "every time you fill up your car, you help City buy a star".... well I couldn't resist it.... "Every time you have fried rice, you help City get someone nice".

Fuck me stiff, its hotting up around us now and the xenophobia is in full swing! I've just heard our owner described as a bed sheet wearing Islamic terrorist and our new partners as human right abusing Communist lefties! Bwahahahahahahahaha!

On another note, something's just occurred to me. Wouldn't £265m be enough to secure Guardiola on a 4 year deal, buy Messi and tie him down to a 5 year deal without us having to use any existing funds? I mean if this were to happen, we'd probably immediately recoup it all and some, just by enhanced sponsorship and increased global interest.

No wonder the Rags are shitting themselves with rage!!! :-)

I knew that you would say India. There's little value in that market and they are developing their own league. Anyway, India and China don't get on. Someone mentioned Russia but Putin's short-sighted support for Assad will have put an end to that. Africa would be an interesting one but maybe a little soon, although I read that Nigeria is about to boom. Sadly, South America seems to be mostly bankrupt. My first choice would be a US TV company but I don't know how that works with the rules over there.

Haven't we as a fanbase moved beyond keeping this discussion at "The rags don't like it tee hee hee" level? Fucking hell. Anyone who is looking at Man United forums or whatever right now has their priorities badly wrong.
