Chris Squire RIP 10 years on

People often source either “Does it Really Happen” or “Heart of the Sunrise” as an example of his skill but here’s another great display of his talent.

Either him or 'The Ox' as my number one bass player, R.I.P Chris Squire.

Another I greatly admire. His runs were amazing, but The Who as a whole never clicked with me. I did enjoy seeing them with Moon too at Belle Vue in 1975. I was 15, and our music teacher got me and mates tickets. Top teacher he was.

Gone but never forgotten.
The wonderful bass player from the rock band Yes. He will always be my favourite musician.
He passed away ten years ago yesterday.

Brilliant band and didn't he look like the quintessential rock star in every way?

When you see what masquerades as "music" these days (see the Glastonbury thread, or a thread about a certain band/singer), it makes you appreciate just what fantastic musicians the likes of Squire, Howe, Brubin, Wakeman and Anderson were, irrespective of whether you liked that genre of music. A significant number of modern musicians are not all that skilled, technically speaking. But they're getting away with it, so fair play. I doff my cap to them. It sure beats working for a living!
