It's a terrible thing to happen but why would it affect having a World Cup there? Are you suggesting the heat could have caused the heart attack? I would imagine being from Ecuador he would be used to playing in pretty hot temperatures.

He was admitted with appendicitis and left unattended for hours, the appendicitis developed into peritonitis and he went into respiratory arrest and died.
 
It's a truly sad story and one is taken back to when Marc-Vivien Foe died. It's always a shock to see such young and fit athletes taken so early.

If there is any kind of comfort, it must be that he didn't play for Liverpool. Imagine that?

At first when I heard Benitez dead, I thought they meant Rafa.
