Maybe, but more likely someone else would have bought the franchise rights. But without us, they wouldn't exist?!
Fuck them.CFG and partners burned up a certain amount of goodwill around here with the stadium delay and demands for tax advantages. But more simply, NYCFC supporters are usually not City supporters and don't want to lose players to a club they don't care about.
Because they’re the sister, baby sister at that, club(s).Maybe, but more likely someone else would have bought the franchise rights.
City owe CFG a lot too but I reckon you'd see some complaints if promising young players were being shipped to NY or Melbourne.
So you figure City supporters would swallow losing young players to NYCFC without complaint if NYCFC was the bigger club? Bullshit. Try it with someone else.Because they’re the sister, baby sister at that, club(s).
Young player with the world at his feet has a choice...So you figure City supporters would swallow losing young players to NYCFC without complaint if NYCFC was the bigger club? Bullshit. Try it with someone else.
I'm not blaming the player, of course he's right to try his hand at City. But I don't expect the NYCFC fans to be pleased about it, what football fan would be.Young player with the world at his feet has a choice...
The MLS
OR
The Premier League & Champions League
NYCFC fans should try asking the players involved which path they'd choose. This is reality for ALL players & clubs globally, & unfortunately for the MLS, I can't think of one elite European player who desires to move there.
City have also lost youngsters we wanted to keep. We played against two of them on Saturday. Eees futbol \0/
Are City forcing English born, England International McFarlane to leave NYCFC for the biggest, richest football league in the world, or is this the player's choice?I'm not blaming the player, of course he's right to try his hand at City. Did Chelsea force SWP to leave for what was then a richer, more competitive club? Was everyone philosophical and uncomplaining when it happened? I don't recall that. Are City forcing English born, England International McFarlane to leave NYCFC for the biggest, richest football league in the world, or is this the player's choice?
Why don't they switch on McFarlane instead?
That's my point. Chelsea wanted SWP, & he wanted to leave to fight for league titles & to play in the Champions League. City fans were gutted, but we also acknowledged this was the way in football. The big successful & wealthy clubs have always poached talented players from smaller clubs. At no point did City fans begin hating Chelsea because they poached SWP.Did Chelsea force SWP to leave for what was then a richer, more competitive club? I remember a lot of complaining and digs at Chelsea and their dodgy money at the time of the SWP transfer. Is it rational, not really as that's the way the world works and we would all do the same, but nobody like to lose their best players to a richer club. That's my point. In fact, clubs like Brighton, Dortmund & Frankfurt have made selling their best players for top dollar their business models. The point of this discussion is why some NYCFC dislike City because we've bought 3 players from them to my knowledge? Mix, Harrison & now McFarlane?
As mentioned previously, I recall the first disgruntled rumblings coming around the delayed transfer of Frank Lampard. He'd left Chelsea & signed for NYCFC, but was loaned to City for half a season, however City asked to keep him for the full season which pissed off a lot of NYCFC fans, with many believing they were being treated as a feeder club for Manchester City.
12 years on, could this still be their issue with City?
I personally don’t give a shit about their supporters, very few of them even like Manchester City and support one of the red cartel clubs. Fuck them. Fuck their plastic little club and fuck the shite league that is the MLS.So you figure City supporters would swallow losing young players to NYCFC without complaint if NYCFC was the bigger club? Bullshit. Try it with someone else.
Yes they were to be honest. We totally understood why he went and virtually all City fans were cheering on Chelsea to do well at the time as a) they were the only team stopping United winning everything and b) it’s not like City could compete at the time.Did Chelsea force SWP to leave for what was then a richer, more competitive club? Was everyone philosophical and uncomplaining when it happened? I don't recall that.
He is here.Aside from all the chatter, can’t be bothered scanning whole thread, but is he coming here now?

Kind of like a German fella, being a fan of an English football team and asking what you did?struggling to understand how any fan of any club could give a toss about the feelings or opinions of fans of another club on another continent.
Let's see what they think (NYCFC) if KDB rocks up this summer, I am sure they may be slightly grateful;)That's my point.
