Christmas dinner preparations

Spent 4 hours in the kitchen this afternoon doing all my prep, plus this year I thought I’d be a smart arse and brine the turkey. It was sat in a tub on the kitchen top while I’m chopping away quite happily and listening to Christmas tunes and then I notice the water on the floor. Fucking tub had a crack in it! Poultry water all over the place….
Anyway I got it all done and sat with a beer and the girlfriend gives me a Christmas Eve gift to open as a reward - a bloody Man City onesie! I can’t believe the club make these things.

Also can’t believe I’m sat in the thing :(
We need photographic evidence!

Why does it offend you so much? Serious question mate. So much for the season of goodwill!
; )
Honestly, if people can't see their way to eating meat just one day a year then it's ridiculous. I always find a way to get some meat into Vege/vegan guests - a bit of duck fat on the spuds or even a few slivers of meat in the nut loaf. They all look well on it and no complaints yet.

I assume you're kidding. If not, you need to have a serious word with yourself because, otherwise, that would be the behaviour of a complete arsehole. Why should it matter to you that some people choose not to eat meat?

You need to mix the custard thicker than the instructions say or it won’t set. If you use Birds custard powder think it’s 2 heaped tablespoons for a pint normally but for trifles we make 1.5 pt with 4 tablespoons of custard powder to make it thicker.
Custard is not something to be trifled with!!
