It’s on Sky

Currently watching Scrooge the Albert Finney version, I’ve never seen it before! So got me thinking my favourite Scrooge films
Alastair Sim version
Animated Jim Carey one especially in 3D
Muppets, bit of trivia the shop at the end is called Mickelwhites (Michael Caines real name)
Scrooged Bill Murray
There are others but they’ve never really grabbed me, not so sure on this Finney version but seems quite good.

The Finney version would be watched every year in our house when I was growing up. I even messaged my mum this morning to tell her to get BBC 2 on!

Ye it’s growing on me, today I’ll just be watching stuff like this, I’ve got to squeeze in a Wonderful Life today even if it means staying up late, love that film.

I prefer the Scott and Stewart versions as they are truer to the book.

The Sim one is a good watch but just too much added/removed to really consider.

The Carey one (apart from some sequences done more for showing off the graphics) is also quite faithful to the book.

There are some decent older ones as well, such as the Seymour Hicks one.

Have SIm and Finney to watch.

The Muppets one is great, but appears to be very much based on the Scott version. That was quite enjoyable.

Those Rankin & Bass animated/puppet series are still Xmas classics in our household - Rudolph, Santa Claus Comin' to Town & Frosty
