Sorry, I am a little confused by the conflicting stories. The MEN says it is not thought to be him but the Facebook group says it is thought to be him?

This is why i still keep a flicker of hope, the body found seemingly does not have any ID and i assume clothing worn being similar to his for the family to say this.
No ID seems suspicious but i won't speculate, i just feel bad for the family.

RIPPolice can confirm body found in Salford canal is Chris Brahney
Police can confirm that the body found in a canal in Salford this morning is that of missing 22-year-old Christopher Brahney.
Shortly before 9.35am this morning, Monday, 9 July 2012, police received a report of a body in the Manchester Ship Canal, near to Media City, Salford Quays.
Christopher was last seen by friends at about 11.30pm on Friday 29 June 2012, when he was at the Stone Roses concert in Heaton Park, Manchester.
A post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow.
