Chromebook abroad.

Due to visit the USA soon. Will my chromebook work normally over there, with a socket adapter of course.

Never heard of any geoip issues with cloub based os's. So you should be fine, google would get some right hammer if something as simpe as that screwed users up.
Not used them myself but i really can't see any issues for you.
