Citeh?

Only rags not from Manchester tend to say it to me. Only one ever from Manc has said Citeh to take the piss out of me, what he didnt realise is I'm not from Manchester and can pronounce City, then I took the piss out of him taking the piss of his own accent.

He promptly fucked off.

What the fuck is all that about?

Is there something behind the rags calling us that or is just another childish remark?

To be fair, if a mancunian says City, it does sound a lot like Citeh. So when I say City they are correct. The muppets from Cockneyland, Denmark, Timbucktoo wherever obviously don't have a Manc accent, so they find it funny that on the whole we do. Not mind kind of humour, but there you go..

So They are basically saying that 'This is OUR City', so in that context I'm Citeh and proud
Good speech!

If you're from the south central side you might and edging up to the Salford border. We North Mancs say 'Citti' and not in the Italian way 'Chitti.

The true Mancunian phonetic spelling of it would be "Ci eh".

There is no t in the Mancunian alphabet.

the t is implied though, so it's sort of halfway inbetween Ci eh and Citeh in a way which the written language has yet to devise any definition

i would use this "ci'eh" to imply the glottal stop but what do i know.

Ah yes, the Mancunian alphabet.

Whilst out for beers after Derby Day, Ric decided to school me in the correct pronunciation of the club, undoubtedly sick of hearing me talk about "Minchester Sitteeee" in my ridiculous Australian accent.

I reckon "Munches'er Ci'eh" is pretty close.

Maybe they are implying most city fans are Canadian eh? I mean most Canadians like to say eh all the time eh. Just like Man Yoo. I guess "Citeh" is their homosexual way of insulting city fans eh. Nothing wrong with being Canadian eh. :)

What postcode are you in? Manchester 99? Or am I the only educated North Manc what can talk proper. Always heard and said the 't' in Moston and the 't' in Citti. There, two bloody tees.
