Man City
I grew up in Manchester and always heard us referred to as “the blues” or “City” .In 1984 I moved down South and returned North again in 2019. Since returning I find that we have become the “citizens”. When did this happen?

When I started supporting City in the 70's, the nickname of the Club was The Citizens, it is nothing new
I think it was like something you'd read in the Shoot annual you got at Christmas then never heard again until the next Christmas.

I don't think I've ever used it, so I probably should pick a different username. Oh well.

I hate that term with a burning passion, everyone in my OSC calls us citizens, cityzens or sky blues.

As others have said its always been our 'official' nickname I remember seeing it in old shoot and match magazines as a kid, it's in the info section on football manager etc etc but I have never once in my whole entire life heard a City fan in real life use the term.

Definitely an odd one, I'd sign a petition to change it to 'City'. I like being the ubiquitous 'City' "There's only one City" and all that.
