City’s last penalty at Old Trafford

We weren’t shit then. We finished 5th in 1991-92, above Liverpool. After finishing 5th the season before, above United.
We had our moments back then especially 76/77 when that team should have won the league over a strong Liverpool but over the 35 years of winning zip I would say we were nearer the shitty end of the scale than good in my opinion.
Not to say those days weren’t immensely fun as a supporter. For me they were as much fun as they are now.

Its a strange one because although the league positions says different we were ‘shit’ but in another way. The performances, style of football were absolutely terrible, esp at home. The irony was when we did play a bit of football we were half decent at it and put in displays like the two 4-0 victories over Leeds.

90 minutes of tedium after a barrage of long balls, interspersed by either the occasionally successful flick on by Quinn and finish by White or a hopeful cross Quinn managed to get his head onto.
