City’s New Kits

The back of the new away shirt looks a bit shit, especially if you don't get a name/number on it:

But a nice a big space to stick whatever message you want on! (Get creative blues) remember seeing a guy at England games with an Argie shirt on in the late eighties/early nineties, remember thinking is this guy on a death wish or what? Then on the back it had Maradona drug deals with the phone number for crime stoppers on it

It's not bad, it's just not great either. One of those completely forgettable away shirts we have from time to time.

If you're going to do red and black, it has to look as classic and minimal as possible.

There's the 2011 away shirt and then there's the 2008 away shirt. I dont even really hate the 2008 one but the 2011 is infinitely better.

Also, has any team in the history of football had a classic shirt with multiple diagonal stripes?

Seeing even just a little red in the stadium doesn't sit right with me. I guess it's just a shirt at the end of the day and have to look past it for a season. Hopefully we can get back to decent away kits again.

Back looks shite - but isn't it Premier League rules that any duel colour kits need to have a solid back so the numbers can be seen properly? (I think)

Nothing in the FA regulations, only that the number has to be clearly identifiable on the back of the shirt, which could easily be done by having yellow or white shirt numbers. Ive just scoured the PDF and there is nothing there.

Plus Newcastle and Palace are both playing with striped backs.

Nothing for the UCL either which is why Barca have done it for years, because their printing doesn't clash with red or blue.

Fair enough - I must have dreamt that up then.

Cheers.
