City’s New Kits

Wouldn't mind but if it is a fake manc accent a few basic things:
Full english with everythin?? sorry you mean Everythink.
Thunder and city not thundoh and citeh, thank fuck he never had to say vimpto ;-)
Now if he would have been eating chips and gravy with a pint of Vimto to wash it down he would have been realistic

Not heard an accent as authentic as that since Dick Van Dyke played a cockney chimney sweep in Mary Poppins.
Guaranteed he's a utd fan too just like when they employed bugzy utd Malone to model city wear .....Manchester city marketing dept hold your head in shame you always miss the real fans of Manchester and never truly connect

I would have preferred vertical stripes. I didn't mind it until I saw that god awful video. Off the scale on the cringeometer!

Is this bloke's accent a piss take or how he really talks?

I've never met or known anyone in Manchester to talk with the false emphasis on certain words that he uses to make it 'more manc'.

It sounds like someone trying to take the piss out of mancunians.

If he is really from Manchester and it's an exaggeration of his real accent, then he must be one of the least self aware people around. Anyone with half a brain would realise that someone asking him to portray mancunians like that is trying to take the piss out of them (even if it's unintentional because it is the brainchild of some advertising clown who thinks it is ironic)

Sounds pretty authentic to me.

It's very exaggerated in certain parts.

I'll have to watch it again but his "Summerbee" seemed particularly 'impressionist taking the piss' the first time I watched it.

I think it is more likely to be an actor instructed to exaggerate his own accent though.

I think it’s a genuine geezer from North Manchester, probably Collyhurst or similar. It’s got that definite North Manchester tone.

Are we moaning about a Manc accent now, as well?

Back on topic, I picked up the away shirt today. First time I've bought a shirt on release week in yonks.
