City’s New Kits

The all blue this year was a great look.

I dont get this obsession with white shorts being our identity. We've never had any consistency with kits outside of a sky blue shirt.

And please don't do that stupid "but wE lOOk LiKe CoVEntRY cITy" shit. They don't own sky blue shorts. Lazio and Celta Vigo have historically played in sky blue shirt/white shorts. Are we copying them every time we use white shorts?
As lazio were formed around 1900 and celta 1929 we cannot be copying them as we are the original wearers of sky blue tops white shorts.

We first wore blue shorts in 1976, for the previous 80 years before that it was blue and white main kit colour with maroon as our second choice colour that is our identity and the strandard for this club.

Since the first introduction of the blue shorts 46 years ago they have been worn for 14 of them years, they are not our colours blue shirts, white shorts is city, we were the first to wear that combo and it is what we should never deviate from.

In my opinion.

NO

Manchester City FC home colours should and always be sky blue with white shorts

Khaldoon's assistant, if you're reading this...

We love him. He's the best Chairman we could wish for.

But please don't give us blue shorts ever again, under any circumstances :-)
Made my laugh when his eyes lit up talking about the kit. But am just imagining the chaos on here when in next season's video Khaldoon says 'right you tossers in the kit thread I've had enough... you can either have me or a guarantee of white shorts but not both, make your mind up boys and girls'

Im kind of with you on that mate. I started watching City in the late 70s early 80s and all my early Maine Road memories as a kid was a blur of all sky blue (with white umbro trim as the programme always told me!) Some of my earliest favorite players, Paul Power, Rockin Ray Ranson, NIcky Reid and Kevin Reeves wore that attire, and it was actually a bit of a shock when Sammy Mcllroy started his (thankfully short) City career wearing white shorts.

I also like liked the white shorts when they was brought in in 1985-86 but I dont have an issue either way and find it amusing how incendiary it is on here.

Infact I agree with you that the all sky blue this year look looked great to me.

Sorry to be a pain my fellow blue, any possibility of that DH Gate link. Thanks

Not a link as such, but go on the app and type in Manchester City 22/23. I've previously used a seller called popjersey and stuff was bob on. Have ordered new kits but not had delivery yet as takes a few weeks.

I always usse popjersey for my kits from there and they are always spot on. Ordered mine last week and they usually take 3-4 weeks to arrive.

2012 PL champions - blue shorts

2022 PL champions - blue shorts

They can't be all that bad then....
Pure coincidence. The kits have absolutely nothing to do with what happened in them, otherwise you’re suggesting that magic actually exists!

Oh it does, in 2012 when celebrating Agueros goal I turned to the man behind me and he had one leg and a prosthetic.
Walking to the Villa game on Joe Mercers Way we were walking behind a lady with one leg and a prosthetic, said to my son thats an omen. It was even down to the great comeback. So magic and omens from the gods of football do exist ;)

Bought the home shirt last week - felt like I was being robbed (even with the season ticket discount!) but couldn't resist. Absolute beauty!

I’m cynically in the total opposite direction to you on that mate. I don’t believe in good luck, bad luck, karma, omens, signs, destiny, fate, magic, jinxes, hoodoos, curses, gods or owt like them.

The blue shorts and prosthetic legs thing are just nice coincidences that happened by pure chance in my eyes haha

With the frequency I buy our shirts they’re worth the price paid because I’ve only bought four shirts in the last decade (maroon2012-13, champions sash 2017-18, 125 Years special, this new home one).

I’ve probably spent under £250 in ten years.

Some people with a few kids probably spend that a year, so I do sympathise with them over the price.

Yeah. I think in the past 10 years I’ve bought the 17/18 one and the 13/14 one, that’s about it.
