hey pal. after a while what's your opinion on the authentic shirt. would you still buy it (instead of the replica)?

I’ve never worn it and probably won’t. It feels like rubber to me. I’d recommend getting a feel of one before splashing out.

Don’t think the price difference is that big really, the replicas cost shitloads as well!

But surely if it really is the same as players wear it can’t be bad / should even be nicer material to wear than the replica…?

Good shout. I got a feel of one in the store as I've wanted one for a while, they're ridiculously thin on top of the weird material feel. Can't imagine they're particularly comfortable for regular wear.

The authentic version of the shirt is interesting. I just received it today. The feel of it is almost rubber, like one of them swimming long sleeve tops folk wear. The badges are all plastic/rubber. Designed for lightness obviously. I’m gonna have to shape up to wear it.

Most wear a base layer to play in so they wouldnt know. Maybe thats why they do? Who knows. Rubbery shiny clothing is best left to other people

Pretty sure it was 81/82.

Not sure whether Saab started their sponsorship at some point during 81/82, or whether it started from 82/83 onwards. But the v-neck home shirt at the start of the 81/82 season didn’t have any sponsorship.

I suppose if you were being a pedant, the 125 yr anniversary kit we used in the charity shield didn’t have a sponsor’s name on it either.

Yes that’s whereabouts I’d of thought it’s funny how sponsors remind you of the kit I always think of Saab with the white pinstripe away shirt.
