You have to say it is a cracking looking trophy, much better than most of the modern rubbish awarded these days. A fine reminder of an age long gone! :-)

I can't be doing with the modern pretenders who bang on about histroy i.e. Liverpool who didn't win it for the first time until 1965

Well said. This was the trophy from 1896 to 1910. The clubs and owners who could have bought it themselves but decided not to bother is revealing

Of course this trophy originates from 1896 as the first was stolen in 1895 when in possession of Aston Villa.
