It’s odd, but X had been getting more awful last 12-18 months but seems to have improved, for me anyway, in the last couple of months. The US election date was certainly irrelevant to what I’ve noticed. How long it will last is anyone’s guess and how successful it will be is yet to be seen.
Twitter will turn its algorithm down until the next election cycle, but it does seem that there is a real migration this time, despite all the lunatics suggesting it’ll never work and it’ll be like Twitter in no time etc.
If bigger (non political) celebrities see that they can recreate their networks on BlueSky, Twitter will die.
They only need to turn it up to 11 near election periods. I had the same thing happen after blocking hundreds of bots and trolls — and I mean hundreds. Wasn’t an awful experience. But I’m off because of the owner now and won’t return. It seems now after a search that many of my small number of favo(u)rite accounts have posts on Bluesky.
