City accounts on bluesky

Think this is different, I know a few who joined threads but most including myself couldn't be arsed.

Another Social media outlet owned by facebook wasn't nedded, already using insta and whatsapp so Threads seemed pointless and just meant more shite being linked I wouldn't want (my 4 year unused fb account infests my insta at times).

being independant of the other may help it imho actually gain popularity.

No. FB is a cesspit and if I'm honest Bluemoon has it's moments (match thread for one) and that's between people that have broadly the same opinions.

I think the other advantage is with it being a new platform you can get your blocking in early - bye bye Miguel.

There seems to have been a big push yesterday led by Ahsan to create a City community on there. Looks like it's working.

For those asking if it will be less of a toxic place than Twitter/X, it remains to be seen. However, for accounts like the podcast’s, if a migration happens then there will be some benefits…

Twitter/X is not a level playing field. Since Musk’s takeover, he controls the narrative - accounts from the far right are given undue prominence through promotion and are pushed into feeds, especially of those who don’t follow them, and the removal of the block means you can’t hide content you don’t want to see as easily.

For the podcast, tweets with external links are suppressed. This means tweets that link to new episodes or to the Patreon are actively given less space than tweets that don’t contain links or that use Musk’s premium feature to promote their content.

Whether or not the atmosphere on Blue Sky will end up being different will remain to be seen. But if it helps us promote shows to City fans, then it will be a good thing if a lot of people set up elsewhere.

I’d much rather have a smaller audience there that engages with the podcast, than a larger one that can’t see new posts easily.

Fair play to whoever organised the move as nearly every City related account I followed is over there, plus a lot of the non-City stuff I followed has come over in the process.

Woke f**kers who don’t like the fact that the American election showed their views to be a clear minority despite being the most vocal opinions on twitter, all rushing to a different echo chamber full of like minded imbeciles.

Twitter was made a dumpster fire by Jack Dorsey allowing all sorts of woke ideologies to creep on there. Isn’t he the guy behind this latest clone?

People walking off X isn’t the way people. Stay, share your opinions and memes and use the mute function if you don’t like something.

The best thing on there is city twitter, don’t allow that to be fragmented. Just block idiots like Pricelss Silva and KdBfan or whatever who have never been to a game and are sat in a farm in India trying to monetise off our fanbase.

It because no one posted on there they signed up but didn't interact! It seems on Bsky social there is that now , it if it carries on and on match days the majority go on there instead of X! Saying that though X been piss poor for interaction unless you pay followers posts not showing up! Also the adverts are a complete joke on there
