Surely even if we wanted him, twitcher morals would stop it from happening.

He can't slag us of inflating transfer fees and them sell us the flop of last season now can he.

He would be 4/5 choice in his preferred position as SWP\Tevez\Bellermy & Weiss can all play on the right.

If he could play on the left then maybe as cover, but his turning circle to cut in to cross on his right foot is slower than the titantic's

Firstly twitcher doesn't have any morals !

Secondly, if true, he would offer us a different option on the right. Hughes has consistently said he wants different options.

I personally think he is a good footballer but he has to play in a certain way as he has no pace and cannot go by people. What he does have is a sweet right foot and an eye for a pass. The stats I posted earlier in the thread prove his quality. You don't get credited with 11 assists for 2 seasons running by being crap.

Talking of stats anybody notice that Arshavin has 7 assists since he signed for Arse in Jan. I would love to have signed him.

The main strength of his game is his delivery - if we are playing Ade and/or RSC then this is what we need. Not a bad buy by any stretch.

I think he's a better player than he showed last season. And maybe his ego has deflated sufficiently that he could concentrate on fighting for a position after his year in London. BUT he wouldn't be my first choice. Yes he could cover for SWP, ireland in a 442 but I think we need someone who can cover for Ireland, Barry, DeJong, Kompany, Johnson i.e. someone tenacious who can pass. I'd have Huddlestone or O'Hara from Spurs before Bentley because they can at least get busy in the center of the pitch.

I do think we badly need more cover for Ireland/Barry/DeJong. Johnson is too much of a gamble for now, Kompany needs time to get fit, SWP can only cover the more attacking role, same with Elano, and then we have some kids .... maybe on second thoughts this is the season for Clayton to break through - think it's risky though. Alonso would be perfect, Palacios would be fab (defensively), fuck I'd even have Parker.

Tin hat on here but i dare say he is a replacement for SWP. Same position but different players. But one thing Bently has over SWP is his delivery which, lets me honest is one of the poorer aspects of his game.

Crosses wont be coming in from the left if Rob is ut there as thats not his game, they won't be coming from the right either if SWP is there as his is more of a running game. We need balls into the box for Ade and or RSC to be sucessful which is where i can see Bentley coming in.

Yes he is another player I would really not like to see at the club, but I'm sure it's a none starter.
