City announce first ESport signing

E-Sports? Is that like an E-Cigarette? Not real sports for people who want to give up?
might sound ridiculous to some of you, but this is multi million industry, some of these gamers earn at least 1 Million Dollars per year.

eSports is expected to be worth 1 Billon dollars next year, smart move by the club.

Esports are games, not sport in my book.
It is a multi million industry and it doesn't sound ridiculous to me.
It's just something I have absolutely zero interest in supporting.
It's like someone on here said. we used to go out on the street and play football. Nowadays kids go online with their mates and play a virtual game.
It's no surprise that some of the gaming generation, haven't a clue about the actuality of playing a game of football. The real physicality, and it also doesn't surprise me how
the generation of footballers now are seemingly evolving into a bunch that hit the ground at the lightest of contact.

I love the game of football, but even as a kid I was a better player than spectator. I loved being involved in it, more than watching it. I loved the sport.

The football industry will eventaully leave me behind I'm sure. The whole global brand thing, although I understand the financial reasoning for it, leaves me cold.
It is a means to an end. The end being at the very top table in football circles. Being able to play the best football at the club I love and have supported since circa 1970.
I have no interest in supporting Manchester City Basketball Club, Motor Racing Team, Cycling team or Tiddley winks either.
I don't even get excited about our other Football teams in the group.

What keeps me interested is MCFC and the fact my son is a teenager and has been at that interested age for the last 5 years or so. I love getting over to Manchester with him twice or three times a year. That's all we manage. We watch all the games together though, through TV or Android box.

The way football is going though I find myself becoming more detatched emotionally and I think a lot of people will, probably to be replaced by a younger generatiion that will embrace everything the brand offers.
In a way, that is why more than anything else at City, I really want to see the Academy work. I would love to see some of the present crop of kids start to shine at first team level.
I think so many people would feel an attachment to that end of the branding. A home trained team playing City's brand of football. Winning helps of course.
