City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

Talking sense mate, its wasted on here.
Thousands and thousands of 'people' have wanted to watch the most successful, entertaining team of the last decade.

Many are 'one matchers', who would come more regularly if the price, conditions and opportunity's were right.

Others are 'one matchers' who want a one off experience but will support City from their home.

Many will be from abroad, come to support 'their man' ie Rodri, KdB, Erling, Marmoush etc.

IMO that's perfectly understandable, and they shouldn't by labled as JCLs, tourists etc, they are simply a category of fans who've come to support their team/man.

The core issues is one of cost, conditions, respect, recognition & appreciation, most of which cost little or nothing.

The club has lost its way, and its getting close to a point of no return for many, many loyal, hard core fans and future generations.

How has it come to this when we should all be enjoying being at the pinnacle of our history.

Time for action from the Sheikh and Khaldoon !!

That's bollocks. with a 61000 capacity there is room for most regular City fans and room for tourists.Tourist aren't twats, i'd say most City fans have been football tourists at times. and if the atmosphere is shit blame 50,000 city fans not the few tourist. Whenever I go tourists seem to join in more than a fair few of the miserable S'/C holders sat around me.

I'd say they are when they jump up and down in the home end celebrating a goal by our opponents, in fact I would and could think of a stronger word to call them.

Most of the tourists I see at the game don't seem that interested in the match other than to take photos and cheer when spuds and the scousers score, makes me wonder how blues can attack other blues views on that when that is the way it is.

Games gone to shit, enjoy your popcorn and 3D glasses.

100% agree

Simple answer is don’t buy them cos this foc will not, watched City since 1964.

I've had quite a few near me that literally disappear at half time. Don't come back for the second half at all. Whether they're meeting up with others elsewhere or just happy enough to have it ticked off their bucket list after 45 minutes who knows? Presumably both. Maybe they need to squeeze in a stadium tour at Old Toilet during their day and can't waste a full 90 minutes watching City.

Piss off 10s of thousands of fans with season ticket and matchday rises or just get the players out on to the pitch in time and save 2 million pound in fines.

I hate all this FFP justification from the club and some of our own supporters. They haemorrhage money all over the place. Focus on that instead of shafting the working man/woman for every penny they have. Have Haaland on 495k a week instead of 500k. I'm sure he can just about survive on that bless him.
Great post. It’s fucking hilarious seeing some fans justify ticket price increases by citing the need to meet PSR/FFP. Have they not seen the kind of profits the club have been posting in recent seasons? Those profits absolutely dwarf any extra money that a season ticket/match day ticket price increase brings in.

The club brings in shit loads of revenue from sources other than match day revenue. On top of sponsorship money, TV money, and prize money there’s also the near half a billion quid that they’ve brought in through selling academy players since the new Academy complex opened a decade ago. And this year there will be an extra source of income - the Club World Cup. Mooted to make City - and Chelsea - a MINIMUM of £27m each, rising to £97m if we go on and win it. Even if we go out at the group stage, the club will have made enough money to freeze season ticket prices and freeze and make more sensible decisions regarding match day prices - instead of this £61 bollocks for Leicester on a Wednesday night - for the next ten years FFS. Win the tournament and they could price in a freeze for 20 years and still have shit loads of change left over.

Fans need to stop falling for this “need to meet FFP/PSR” bullshit that the club are coming out with because in effect they’re just doing their bidding for them. City have never had so much wiggle room as they do now regarding FFP/PSR so there’s absolutely no need to increase ticket prices again. I’d actually argue that a multi-year price freeze would make more money for the club in the long-term as it keeps long-standing loyal fans onside, whereas continued incremental price increases will just price out and piss more and more off and then the club will need even more people from elsewhere to fill the stadium.

I’m not exactly sure what’s going on here as tickets are available on the official website so why bother with this viagogo ?

Because of there reach to other countries I suppose!

City probably want to piss off as many older season ticket fans as possible so they give up there season ticket! The club probably want a max of 25k season ticket holders!

You can probably pick up some bargains for the Leicester game off one of these ticket sites compared to City’s own prices but that doesn’t really excuse what’s happening here. I think City and viagogo will come into their own regarding legalised touting when it comes to the games against the likes of United, Liverpool, and Arsenal. Many long-standing fans won’t be able to obtain tickets through the club for those games but you can bet viagogo will have plenty available at eye-watering prices.

I never ever look at the hospitality areas. When 215 (South Stand) was converted to a hospitality block, I moved from 216 because I wanted to sit near the away fans.

I am completely disinterested in how the club sells hospitality seats as long as they remain a minor part of City's overall ticketing. I am interested in the season tickets and match day prices and availability. Are they connected? If they are then I become interested in this news. If they are not, then I don't see why there is such interest in this.

It seems that City are waiting as long as they can to resolve the 115 case before considering the ticketing for 2025-26.

correct,,on the face of it there are some reasonable prices on these sites until you go to your basket and get stung for invented charges

It means you don’t have to be a member. You don’t have to have an account with City. You can bypass ticket point requirements for future games (as long as you have the money).

My question to the club is “do you think this will lead to more or less away fans/trouble in the stands”?

Remember, 1894 surveyed over 5k blues and found that away fans in the home end was their biggest concern. This data was shared with the club (including Danny Wilson who has commented on how happy he is about this partnership).

They are piss takers.
