City Announces Global Partnership with Viagogo

I think after that excellent post .
This argument about city fans been apparently racist is now over.
Anyone who thinks or has a different argument should be pointed in the direct of that post.
End of discussion.

Still don’t think there ever was an argument about City fans being racist. I don’t think anyone said City fans were racist, the argument as far as I could see was over the use or misuse of the word tourist. Anyway enough on that for now.

Exactly.
I couldn't give a toss if someone's black white or fucking purple.
It's the tourists as in not real city fans that fuck me off.
Nob heads who have a YouTube channel and get sponsored/endorsed to attend the game and film it.
Paying inflated prices at the expense of proper fans who are getting priced out.
And that's absolutely nothing to do if these people are Asian
Black.
Gay or anything really.
I'm the least racist person ever.
But I want to get the ground full of proper fans

But what is a proper fan ?

I was sat sat next to 4 Japanese people who didn't say much, but looked like they had spent plenty on City merchandise, got in early and left well after the final whistle, or the 4 fine folk sat directly behind me who loudly berated the team and one or two players constantly for 80 minutes ( when they left). And told me to shut the fuck up when I questioned their football knowledge, as they were season ticket holders.
I wonder if they were the proper fans you speak about.
Without any offence intended.
Unfortunately match goers have never been all knowledgeable or fanatics supporting the team, they are a mixed bunch, and much better at away matches which I now enjoy so much more than the Etihad.

Yep agree
Have a beer and chill out

Nobody has a problem with a City supporting tourist/s. FACT! Anyone on here who says City fans have is a liar.

The problem is tourists in the City ends who support United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, etc. Especially celebrating their goals.

What those tourists don't understand is the tribalism on the English terraces.

The root cause of the tourist issue is City selling tickets to football tourists on ticket touting websites.

Years ago this was never a problem at City. It's gradually got worse as City have been selling more and more tickets in the home ends via their now 9 partner ticket touting websites to football tourists.

City isn't Barcelona. (Is it Soriano!) City isn't Real Madrid.(Is it Soriano!) Where you can buy a €150 match ticket in the home ends and celebrate a goal without any mither.

There isn't one European club that would sell a ticket to a football tourist in the Ultra ends. Yet our Directors sell tickets to tourists who support other teams in South stand, level 1, the equivalent of our Ultra end.

Soriano and the Directors have caused all these tourist problems inside the Etihad with their greed and desperation to sell as many tickets as possible to anyone who will buy them at an inflated price, which is normally a football tourist.
Excellent post.

Brilliant post and I’m so sorry you went through that, mate.

The way the club treated you was unconscionable, and as you rightly say their disdain for the fans is now brazen.

Thank fuck they are just custodians. We were here before them and we’ll be here after them.
And lessons were learned no doubt . As you say, it was just luck that nobody died

both sets are city fans

if they had brighton shirts on and were cheering them on (even secretly) then they are what people have the issue with.

non city fans in home ends

Now if those 4 japanese City fans had prime seat tickets at old trafford in a few weeks people would question how they got them , could be from a supporters club or they may have the points which is fine, but if it was because city sold away tickets to ticket agencies over match goers or they were from staff being given as many tickets as they wanted and then selling them on, then that would annoy many.

it isn't where you're from that people are concerned about it's:

  • Away fans in the home end at high numbers that is more than the odd one getting a ticket (which many of us have done)
  • Neutral fans with no interest in city getting ticket over fans (albeit this experience could turn thwm into blues for life)
  • New fans with no points or non fans getting away tickets.
  • Are fans being priced out?
  • Are our pensioners and juniors gonna get priced out?

I don't like the word tourist for anyone coming to support city, if you come for the game amd to support your team doen't matter if its one game or a thousand, but some are coming not for that and like it's going to alton towers or the cinema, and prices are reflecting this, fans make a club as much as the players, people coming for selfies and little else don't

Fair enough.
And the 4 season ticket holders sat directly behind, after 1 minute 44 seconds calling for Lewis to be substituted, Not one positive remark the whole game, berating the tean for 80 minutes before leaving ?
Are they Legacy ?

no they are moaning cunts, something city have had in abundance for the 35 years I have been going, be it on the kippax or in the platt lane or now in the south stand, and also at aways. there are plenty near me also young and old.

To be fair there was a lot to.moan about for 35 years lol. Probably hard to break the habit now.

Some supporters wanted the option of a demo outside the Main Stand - Colin Bell. Various reps will be leafleting and talking to fans. From 7pm Wednesday.
If a majority that would normally spend on food and drink do not for this one occasion, that would have an actual financial impact rather than a silent 9 minutes which won’t be silent anyway as Leicester fans won’t be joining in

I’ve always thought the best protest fans could do would be arrive at the ground two minutes before kick off en masse, which would impact all the bars and cause absolute chaos, traffic stopped and queues winding down the main roads, match delayed etc. they do this in serie a all the time

Did the folk behind you cheer when Brighton scored? At home that's the measure isn't it? Did they want City to win? You disagree how they go about showing it but they're not relevant to this discussion surely.

A different view on this protest , I am 100% behind doing something however as someone who takes 2 young children to the game its very difficult getting up and down at half time when say a quarter of the stand leave for a piss or a pint. 10000 people all trying to get to their seats at the same time 9 mins into the game worries me how safe that would be and if they may get injured by participating.

To be honest I bet all clubs have moaning cunts
At Maine Rd when I was a kid my dad used to drive and give his mate a lift.
If we won 3 nil he would moan
He moaned during the treble season.
Some people like moaning
Like when you go on holiday.
Always some **** moaning.
"I can't wait to get home and have a proper cup of tea".

A Lad at work moans about how much he earns..keeps saying he's going to leave.
"Leave then mate".
Some people see the best in anything..some the worst.
I suppose it's just how people are

Give it a few month and everyone will forget when city sign another deal with some money grubbing cooperation, it’s over imo
