City are expensive to watch.

City is not expensive. It got a bit pricey last season but this season much better. If you can't afford the food prices make a packed lunch. When we do the north stand more cheater tickets will become available.

The food and drink is expensive but that is to be expected they still seem to sell plenty (and the mystery still remains for me that at that price people still leave behind half drunk pints, the few times I have partaken I have savoured every last drop due to the price) I think everyone would love ticket prices to be cheaper than they are, but they are still selling them and people are still buying them

Your taste buds are obviously knackered.

Some tickets may be cheap, but the price of pies, beer, coffee etc at the stadium is fucking shocking. I've seen the usual pish about 'it's your choice', which is all well and good, but it doesn't answer the question of why our club feel the need to price everything so high. I personally don't buy stuff at the ground as I hate being ripped off, but looking at the queues for food and beer it appears others don't have the same opinion - and that's what matters to the club. As long as punters will pay ludicrous prices for average food and drink, then why should they reduce prices.

Wasn't that long ago it was the working class game, with everyday people able to support their local club.
Now, its a luxury item.
It's become a luxury now because you can't jib trams, jump turnstiles or steal from your mam?
I'm not sure I'm feeling your pain there, bro'.

I don't touch the draught beer inside but just shy of £4 for 330ml of cold lager at half time is acceptable. I've always got beer at home or in the pub when football is on so it should be no different at the ground.

Watching City is not expensive in comparison to other forms of entertainment, to watch some of the best players in the world as well. It's about choice, I would give up other things & do to watch city , to me it is like a religion better even than any religion I can think of. For you to say we're a rich mans toy is the language of our enemies & by a so called City fan is just pathetic. As for stealing off your mam, only total wankers do that.

It's not 'other forms of entertainment' though. People buy tickets for other events every now and again. Your football team is a 20+ times a year event (what else is?) and you can't change your team for a cheaper one like you would a supermarket.

It's a unique customer/supplier relationship and they've got us by the balls. To compare it with going to a gig or to Wimbledon or to other once a year or once a lifetime rip offs is ridiculous.

Is it not your choice to spend as much or as little as you like when going to games?

Well said. I go to a few gigs every now and again, it's a treat. Same with going to the cinema.

whereas with City they have got us tied down like a Mortgage for life, where it's our chosen team picked by family/friends growing up.
But besides City, even clubs close to me such as Bury/Radcliffe/Rochdale/Bolton charge stupid prices....

As a one off yes sure it's not a big problem, but let's be honest here, how many matches do you miss?
I attend most (if not all) home games and attend around half of away matches.

For you to say we're a rich mans toy is the language of our enemies & by a so called City fan is just pathetic. As for stealing off your mam, only total wankers do that.

Oooh my loyalty is being questioned now, hahaha... F.U.C.K O.F.F you muppet, and i'll say that to your face on Saturday outside Mary D's.

As for being a "total wanker" you didn't know my circumstances when I was 10-15yrs old. I never got shit, I wasn't taken to matches at City,
like alot of kids were. I wanted to go so I had to do other things.

It's even worse now for kids today if their parents aren't taking them as they would never afford to get in.
Rarely see that many kids travelling around these days by themselves anyway, unless they are little scrote gangs like I used to knock about in.

It's a shame, so many potential Blues living in the areas who are priced out, can't hop over the turnstile, can't pay cash on entrance,
Totally different era and you'll find more kids in Gtr Manchester on saturday playing Fifa 16 videogame as Man' City than the number of kids actually inside the stadium.

This is worrying too.

The cheapest adult matchday ticket for City costs £42. Only Chelsea charge more for their cheapest tickets - £52.

City are going in the wrong direction on price.

With huge amounts of money flowing into premier league football from commercial sources it is not a good thing to see City becoming a club only the affluent can watch.

Is it not your choice to spend as much or as little as you like when going to games?

It's not my choice how much the club charges for tickets is it? Of course not.

It's absolutely my choice whether to buy merchandise, programmes, food, drink etc from the ground. I generally don't and I never ever complain about those prices as they're not a necessity to watch City. A ticket or season ticket is!

what's the average price per game for a season ticket holder who paid 300 for the s.t.

Just to add. City have no problem with you taking your own food and drink (non alcohol of course) into the ground. I just wouldn't pay £4 plus for a pie, chicken balti or not!!....

Meh... just under £16.

It's irrelevant. my ST is £600... So i'm paying £32 per game. I'm happy to pay this price but when you start including Cup games and travel, it adds up..
Sure you don't have to attend cup games and you could walk to the stadium, but how much would a pair of shoes cost :D

Food and drink prices at the stadium are poor, and the quality and service even worse, so find a cheaper pub to drink in, and for food there's a cafe (Bonnies) 200 yards from the ground (down Ashton New Road towards town) that does great food, at great prices, and their pies are excellent, There's also the chinese chippy on Beswick Street, which is also excellent value for money.

Good point here in that there's plenty of food/drink options not so far away from the stadium.
The less Blues who eat/drink in there hopefully the club will actually take note then and improve the quality.

There's a Greggs (haha) on Ashton New Road, ain't that far away if you're desperate for a Pie/Pastie.
Think about it, 80p for a pie, or £4 for one? hmm....

I've stopped buying food at the stadium due to service and cost. I grab some scran before the match.

Not sure what that 'meh' thing means?
I'm simply pointing out that 40,000 loyal Blues pay a lot less per game than the headline figure says.

The cheapest walk up, one off ticket is definitely too steep but if those, and the sky high corporate shit packages subsidise the ST holders then so be it.

I go as much as poss but don't have a ST yet i rarely pay more than 30 and usually 20/25. I got the West Ham game for nowt but left the st owner 10 pints on. Usually the ticket is from a mate who cant go or it's my turn on a couple of 'floaters' we have. I've even got from strangers for less than face value.

Its not a hard decision, I've bought next to nothing in, or around, the ground since we moved there.

I buy a season ticket to watch City play football, and I've just cut my ticket price by pretty well half this season, a good result.

I can eat and drink cheaply if I want, two examples in my earlier post, but I've booked a very good restaurant in town for Wednesday night, and it'll cost me little more than the shite on offer from City.

Its down to choice, and other than convenience, I can't understand why anyone pays the prices City catering demands.

My season ticket has almost doubled in price over the last 8 years. Is that acceptable and fair to you?

Your situation with giving somebody x number of pints for a ticket is hardly relevant btw. A few thousand cheap 300 quid season tickets doesn't mean everyone is getting theirs for cheap.

We can argue about expenses, cheap season tickets, food prices etc. In the end l still find I absolutely staggering with all the money coming in the PL as an organization hardly a penny is spent on fans.
I wouldn't mind if food and drinks in the stadium are expensive as it's the fans' choice to buy it in or outside the ground. As long as ticket prices are somewhat I line with the PL-money coming in.
