They do play in Preston sometimes, and also Liverpool.Fair enough but maybe the cricket club need to play in Lancashire as well to make it correct :)

Lancashire is a historical county, who's southern border is the river Mersey, the new metropolitan counties are really only administration Counties, so Manchester and Liverpool are still part of the historical county of Lancashire

If it bothers you that the Lancashire rose is no longer relevant just chill out and tell yourself it's an English rose to represent the country in Europe (problem solved) and be grateful it's a not a Moon or a big gold star
