City Bets - 2022/23

Bit of a niche bet but SkyBet are offering 33/1 on Cole Palmer to make the World Cup squad.

33/1 is probably the right price at the moment but given how shit England are and the pressure Southgate will be under nearer the time, anyone who puts 4/5 good performances together will be spoken about regarding making the squad.

Read an article the other day that said that the top Premier League goalscorer has never been a player who has just been transferred over from abroad to play here for the first time.

It clearly doesn't mean Haaland won't do it, but I guess we could see a bit of settling in.

Tbh, I feel like he's what's going to see us go all I the way in Europe, but he might get rested a bit in the Prem.
Interesting stat, but has there ever been a striker as good as Haaland sign for the best team in the league? Genuine question, can't think of any?

I like it but I cant see him playing enough. England are short of someone on the right wing for me

Theres been some good ones, some for us obviously!

But yeah, Haaland's probably the equal of any (at least!) and joining a better team than others have done.

I reckon he's clear, Aguero and Henry were the two that came to mind, but Henry was playing on the wing and Charlie Adam was a better signing than Aquero....
