City 'bribing' fans?

Seventh or thereabouts in any all-time attendance table you care to look up and that considering that the trophy cupboard has been bare and we've had stints in the second and third divisions over the last three decades while those with higher attendances have won tons of silverware. Imagine where we would be in that table had we been nearly as successful....

During our top flight campaigns we have usually been the 3/4/5th best supported club that season including this one.

Highest attendance (other than at Wembley): 84,569 - Manchester City vs Stoke City (FA Cup 6th Round, 3 March, 1934). More than Manures biggest league attendance which of course was also at Maine Road.

We have no history and we are Liddel Siddy with no fans. Let's not let the facts get in the way of rag obsessed medja bollox eh?! PMSL.

lol is this directed at me because of what i posted the other day by any chance? lol

I sense that people have started to think that just because the club is rich the fans are aswell. We're not Chelsea!

To be fair, Chelsea was originally quite a working class club but now they've been replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade - although this process began well before Abramovich arrived. You'd think there'd be some praise that our owners have shown no such intention of pricing out the traditional fanbase but our position as 'Official Ruiners of Football est. 2008' forbids that.

no chance of the media ever giving us praise
as you say the owners have kept their promise of keeping the club within the community
eg free gig
open day
match shown on big screens with bbq
cheap tickets
fan forums etc etc etc

the club is now well run and the media should recognise this, but i'm not holding my breath

So do tesco's bribe shoppers with buy one get one free?
Do the papers try and bribe people with Holidays for £1 offers?

All city are doing is recognising that due to the economy, fans are hit hard in the pocket and are offering deals. Its called Marketing not brides.
Due to the amount of fans who cant go to 5.30PM games or 8pm games or not even knowing when games will be rescheduled for, those fans dont buy season tickets and have to choose thier games. This leaves tickets on offer for home games and the club is offering deals for them, like a good business should do.

With the papers, its we are dammed if we do and we are dammed if we dont so yeah, fuck them.

Its not as if we are forcing fans to buy cup tickets with thier season tickets, or charging £47 for away fans etc. Our owners should be applauded for all they are trying to do for the fans but this countries press are so poor they cant even see it

well said sir...£49 for fulham away...Joke.

Their highest league, cup and certainly up to very recently european attendance were all in Manchester, not at the swamp.

love seeing articles like this. bred from fear... the fear we're about to gatecrash the cozy status quo.

not in a one off blackburn way either. once we've got there, it's going to be difficult to dislodge us.

Sorry, your fact was indeed correct, i was merely trying to highlight that as well as their all time home League attendance, their cup and european record attendance were also in Moss Side.

Apologies if i didnt word it correctly. :-(
