City bus scheme for home games - bus tracking (P91)

There are a few bullocks coaches that go to every match in and around that area, which are quite popular. There’s one that goes through Cheadle that has quite a few stops.

I’m a bit unsure how it will work with the city buses as well. Lots of Cheadle blues already get a coach to the game. Would they stop using that in favour of the new scheme?

Unless I’m wrong I think the bullocks coach is cheaper than what’s being proposed
Udder bullocks services are available from HG & Bhall

It is nothing new really

There used to be buses from all those areas on match days back in the 70s and 80s.

One ran from Langley to Maine Road, went through Middleton centre and Blackley.
Yeah I used to get on it outside tommys chippy. Donald pestering us for most of the journey! Haha!

In the 60's/70's there were match special buses from Mount Road in Gorton to Maine Road and then then from Yew Tree Road coming back. There were match specials from Aytoun Street in town too.

When Manchester Council ran the buses there were a host of special buses to all parts of the compass. Under SELNEC they ran to even more widespread places. My Dad and I used to get one from Whitefield on a regular basis. But then they just stopped.

I said the same I’m in 317, It takes me on a good day 10/15 mins to get Briscoe Lane, they need to be communicating with the drivers, once the whistle goes you have to give it 30 mins before you leave, your going to have FOCs and possibly a few disabled trying to get there, 15 mins is nit enough time for everyone to get there. There are only 4 drop offs so it’s not going to take that long to get home.
30 minutes after full time and you sit in traffic for an hour. Pros and cons.

Yep the special buses from Aytoun Street to Maine Road dropped off on Lloyd Street near to the Parkside Hotel, if I remember correctly(?) , the journey back to town was the reverse . But always plenty of buses. Basically as soon as one bus was full off it went (this was both before and after the match)

Judging by the comments on here then I’m assuming these “buses” will be Busy Bees or Little Gems, plus won’t be long before you can get the EmptiBus to the EmptiHad ffs

80 passengers I believe

Hoping they'll be putting more than 1 bus per route as just less than 1,500 if full to capacity. Also hoping they add Bolton, Swinton lines lot of blues I know who would use those routes.

It’s a great idea and credit to the club for organising it ,disappointed there isn’t one stop in Bolton though , We seem to be the only area in GM with nothing
Yep does seem very strange if they're willing to come all the way from Macclesfield you think they'd want to service areas like Bolton, Westhoughton, Wigan, Leigh, Atherton etc...also odd not seeing Warrington on there.
