I take a packed lunch for my son when I take him. He has been 8 or 9 times now; bag searched each time, let through with no problems.

Could he not eat and drink enough to last around two hours whilst he was waiting in those queues?

He’s sweating like fuck from his arduous journey and pit stop speed change of clothes, he’s gotta hold his bag, get his flask out, unwrap his sandwiches and edge forward every few seconds. It’s more trouble than it’s worth.

That may be so, but this year something changed.

My wife and I have been season ticket holders for years, every year we try to move if we can to get a better view closer to the centre line, closer to the pitch, that sort of thing. We've moved four times over the years, but most years we've stayed put as there have been very few options opening up for a better view. This year when we looked there were a lot more seats available and I mean a lot, so we snagged two seats with a much better sight line.

Anecdotal evidence for sure, but something is up if suddenly there were a lot more seats available for relocation, and good seats as well.

I have two on the waiting list and haven’t heard anything from the club

Not according to Sam we haven’t - he wanted to sell me a season card and he wondered what part of the ground I wanted one in.

According to the the official City website, we sold out in June. It would make no economic sense for City to announce that all seasoncards were sold out in June if they weren't all sold.
