His post may be unbelievable to you but every issue he raises he’s correct on

In your opinion - one not shared by many. Especially in relation to our management team. However like us, you’re entitled to your opinion as long as you don’t consider them to be facts.

Seems to me that the most interesting thing about the OP, is the fact that club are trying to reconnect with a disgruntled long time fan.

Anyone else in a similar situation, been contacted by the club?

Not being able to bring your own food and drink inside is the policy of pretty much every sport or theatre venue pretty much everywhere. I'm genuinely confused why this would be surprising in any way.

Because for some reason football fans think they should be exempt from the norm.

I too (occasionally) cycle to the game. The club should provide a safe storage facility for bags exceeding the size threshold. These can then be retrieved after the match. I too was told my pannier was too big (no flask or butties in it either!) but it does have spare inner tube, pump, tyre levers, keys, overshoes, waterproof trousers, front and rear lights and helmet and gloves in there when going through the turnstyles. To try and fit all of this stuff into an A4 bag is tough. It's quite hard to find any bike panniers which are less than A4 in size as their smallness would render them useless tbh.
Simply put all your gear on next to the turnstyle and walk in wearing the waterproofs, helmet, overshoes etc and take them off once inside and put in a bag ;)

You’re spot on there Mr GB62, I related my experience because I wanted to hear about other people’s experiences, rather than having mine dissected.
I should add that I’m still a keen supporter - just one who’s realised that the match day experience has changed and the changes have taken the fun out of it for me personally.
I’m double chuffed with how we’re progressing on the football front and I still turn out to cheers the open top bus at the end of every season but, my dealings with supporter services were an eye opener to just how little they care for us as people and I wouldn’t attend the Etihad again even if they sent free tickets and limo to take me there.

Although you can enjoy the great football we are playing on tv and online I wouldn't have let the jobsworth moron's deny you watching us live.

I too have had run ins with a few stewards and detest the draconian approach to taking your own food and drink into the game. It does nothing but create bad feeling and makes people even more determined not to buy the poor fare on offer inside. All the modern razzmatazz leaves me cold too. After many years of paying to watch utter dross and failure though, I am damned if I am going to let it stop me watching the best football I have ever seen played live. I get there as late as possible, watch the game and leave. If it wasn't for the queues I would enter at two minutes to kick off.

It may be an age thing but I do waver at renewing now each year. The more problematic the transport and getting into the ground becomes the more I wonder if it is worth the hassle and cost. Mind you I am getting that way with air travel these days, Manchester airport being the absolute pits it is.

I wonder if City are just trying to confirm that people giving up season tickets are ordinary mancunians who are not likely to spend hundreds on food, drink and merchandise. If so, they've not much to worry about.

There are many great things about City in this day and age but we should not be under any illusion that our traditional match-going support is anything other than a nuisance to Soriano and his chums.
In fairness the OP sounds like he gets changed at the ground and has a bloody picnic. It’s football. Have a pie before the game OR eat before you go. Jesus if you’d rather give up you season ticket at this point in city’s history than give up a butty and a brew!! I’m sorry this all sounds a bit weird.

Anyway in answer to the original question
Are City starting to listen to disenfranchised supporters, looking to rescue attendances because season ticket take-up is dwindling or are they drumming up more support ready for the long awaited North stand expansion?
Pretty sure as for the last few years season tickets sales have increased in numbers and sold out it's probably part of a feasibility survey for expansion, and what type of season ticket those that no longer buy one would want, if any.

That wasn’t offered to me and a main contributor to me deciding to end my active support was the way they wouldn’t allow me to take even a drink through the gates - despite the medical need for me to have one with me.
They said that I could queue at a franchise for a drink of free tap water - despite he choice being to queue for that or takes leak or miss the start of the 2nd half.
you are roy cropper, i claim my £5
